He was a very prominent and influential evangelical preacher. He has now admitted to having sex with a gay prostitute and doing crystal meth. This alone is a bad thing obviously, but people make mistakes, so I don't judge him too harshly for this. It's the fact that he's held himself up as a moral leader to so many people, and has been such an outspoken critic of homosexuality that makes him a disgusting hypocrite.

Ted Haggard was a pastor. And he was accused of having sex with a gay prostitute and buying drugs. He has admitted to some of the stuff but hasn't really gone into details. Just check out the major news websites, the story is plastered all over them.

Leader of the National Evangelical something or other. He was venomously opposed to gay rights and gay acceptance. However, he was caught buying methamphetamines from a gay prostitute, as well, he was paying the prostitue for certain 'activities' in which Ted played the 'accepting' role. He then lied openly to his congregation about the nature of his relationship with the man and lied about his drug use.

You'll have to use your own judgement to decide if any, some, or none of that is bad. I personally think the hypocracy, lying, and drug use were his only errrors. His 'flock' have some much harsher opinions of his morality than I.

This is the most recent article on him at MSNBC News.

He is the head of the New Life Church, also of an Evangelical organization that is National. He is one of the largest opponents against Gay Marriage and Homosexuality in the US. He was accused of buying Meth and paying for sex, both of which was from a male prostitute. At first he said the only accurate accusation was buying the Meth, but (his words, not mine) he had thrown them away and getting a massage from the same male prostitute. Now he is confessing to more than just that and seems to be confessing to using the Meth instead of throwing it away. In other words, he's another typical hypocritical Evangelical Preacher.

He fervently "witch-hunted" gay people and used his religion, his pastoral status and political standing to go about it, but had gay sex in private. That makes him a user, manupilator and dangerously hypocritical.

- When confronted... he did not come clean until more dirt was dug out and he had no choice

- He apologised to his congregation... but in truth, he owes an apology to the Gay Community and most of all, Christian all around for misleading and using the "mask of godliness" to do it.

Nothing can be more horrific than a leader of faith, who leads others to the light, castigating his parishioners but enjoying a quick romp and "FIX" at the side....

I cannot imagine how many young gay men and women or drug tempted kids/adults who went to him Confused and in Fear, got heavilly REBUKED by him in the name of the Lord for being sinful... Made to feel like Kaka, and slammed by guilt.... Their Hearts, Spirits and Minds now must be totally smashed and devastated then... and even more so NOW!

This is what happens when Pride and Vanity takes over.... at least he is teaching us all... not one HUMAN is infallible
