I think that's only fair. Not only should they be required to get a GED, they should also be required to know english. they should also have to wait in line like every one else who's trying to become a legal citizen of this country. The last thing we need is another person to become a citizen that doesn't have an education and doesn't speak english. We already have a big enough problem with education as it is and an even bigger problem with illegals that don't speak english.

I would be willing to help some of the poorer nations to get on the right road to educating their people. But you have to look at it this way,Mexico is not a poor nation. It is a rich nation filled with a lot of poor people, there is a difference. It would be nice if everyone in the world had at least a GED.That should be a priority in all nations. There are illiterate people in every country and there is no reason for it in this modern world.Just as in this world of plenty there is still hunger and starvation. It is unconscionable to me to think that somewhere in this great nation that some child will go to bed tonight hungry.
I know we cant feed the world, but damn why cant we even feed our own.

And the point would be what? In truth the issue of immigration is going to go to the back burner after the election. The only reason the conservatives made it an issue was so they would have an issue to get voters talking that wasn't Iraq, just like they did with gay marriage last time around. I mean when was the last time you lost a job to an illegal? And don't get me started on the tax money argument...I mean seriously how much do you think that wall is going to cost. Go ahead and bash me for this, though. I mean that is much easier than actually educating yourself on the issue.

No, that means our tax payer will still be paying for them to get free schooling. They dont have GED's in Mexico.
My idea is, Mexico in trade, give us their oil, which they don't use much of, and we send them some of our educators, teacher's, to teach the potential Mexican's who would like to immigrate to USA, ENGLISH, the requirements to obtain a GED, then make them still wait in line in the long list of other potential immigrants, who are already enducated, without our tax paying dollars, and have been waiting for as long as 30 years! That senario is MORE than fair. Just because Mexico is next to us, doesn't give them nore privledges than other's who have from day one done what they were supposed to do.

@Wastingtime - the question isn't approximately those illegals crossing the border yet somewhat approximately human beings that are already right here. there's a % for migrant workers in this usa and mutually as i do no longer condone unlawful immigrations according to se, it may be impractical, no longer to show economically possible to deliver 12 million illegals returned to their residing house worldwide places - think of the paper works and the charges of having to try this. i think of it somewhat is lots simpler to shore up our borders, advance border patrol presence, construct a extra formidable wall with state-of-the-artwork surveillance equipment, use aerial unmanned drones, something to deter unlawful crossings. And as quickly as caught, expedite the deportation technique. in addition to, it somewhat is undeniably genuine that without the migrant workers that artwork usually interior the agriculture sector harvesting produce, we does no longer be able to income from the low fees of end result and vegetables from the community grocery shops. those are extremely hard and returned breaking artwork which will pay little or no and in spite of legislations to ascertain a secure working environment for the employees it remains an extremely puzzling job. in spite of the undeniable fact that, for human beings that are already right here and function no longer dedicated any crimes different than being right here illegally of direction, and function been paying taxes and function provided an undue burden to welfare equipment or different entitlement courses, then i think of they'd desire to be allowed to a direction in the direction of legalization of their prestige.

Nope. Get em out of our country. I'll pay an extra 10 bucks on tax day to buy bus fuel with...get em out, send em home, stop playing with your food etc...they need to go and fix their own country, they can build their own schools etc.

Support the US Border Patrol!

Who's gonna pay for it? We pay for everything else for these freeloaders. Round 'em up and ship 'em out!!!!

Now as for the people who come here legally, sure we should require that.
