I'm struck by the correlation between belief in an afterlife and the inability to construct a sentence or to spell. I swear this is not just gratuitous rudeness, and I make a serious point here, the less well trained mind is,I think, more likely to hold on to a magical belief system about an afterlife.

The big problem with near-death recollections is this - every religious believer "sees" what he has been taught to believe. There is no consistent reportage, all beliefs "go toward a light ", Pagan, Christian , and non-believers, all have the same experience. Recovery after near-death experiences is often accompanied by a desire to gain knowledge/education/ the avid reading of books, and a general self improvement regime. Medical science would attribute "the light", to oxygen starvation as our systems shut down, and having a second chance may encourage many to learn more about the life they almost lost, not to waste life worrying about the possibility of a "next" one.

Many religions act as a placebo for their followers by advocating this.
why not, it's something we all fear. Can you remember before you were born?, nope, neither will you remember anything when you die.
It would be nice to think I'm heading to Heaven with fluffy clouds, harps and a pair of wings (or my version would be free beer, sexy babes in bikinis and fast cars) but I'm not. neither is anyone else, although I will probably feel a bit of a plonker on the Day of Judgement. (I'll be at the back, looking at the floor).

I believe in that big time. I believe when someone dies they come to life in a different form or maybe another person. Laugh if you must but I strongly believe that I was some Ancient Egyptian years ago, maybe that is why I have such a stong attraction to Ancient Egyptians. A person can come back as a human, or an animal. Who knows? I guess we will get those answers when we get called to go. I am so glad to hear your friend is alive today, that is fantastic. Minutes to us can be longer to those who pass on.

even if ur freind stopped from breathing he didn't die in that moment.but no oxygen could reach to his lungs.but his heart kept beating.maybe he has a good luck.eventhought all our life is just about 1 sec if you want to count it at the age of 70 or 80.
but if you believe in god.be sure there is life after death.

I believe in it yes. There is more to life than being on Earth. Must be. I refuse to believe this is it. I cannot say on remembering it, like in this situation. You hear many stories about people "seeing a light / golden gates" etc so I dont know. There must be more tho

My mother "Died" during childbirth. During her experience, she was given the answer to many of the things that go unexplained in life. She remembers thinking it all made sense, and she was going to remember that, but when she woke up, she couldn't recall any of it.

I believe that there is life after death. But I don't think a person in your friends situation would necessarily remember it.
