"Truth" can be a little subjective, can't it. It does depend on point-of-view. I would argue that you must find everything that you can on any subject--all the facts, opinions, laws, and philosphies--that you can so that you can attain as close to objective perspective and therefore as objective a truth as you can on any subject, and that would be how you'd find the more important truth.
