The borders are not secure but what if we take a lesson we learned about slavery? Would Indentured Servitude in return for citizenship be a worthwhile alternative? Supposing you had:
1. a separate part of the property for one or a few illegals to stay
2. a lot of work for them to do and someone to keep guard and/or translate spanish to English
3. enough patience to deal with 7 years of the illegals doing the menial chores for you
Would a program like this work for the working American family and the illegal trying to obtain citizenship in an acceptable way?
If not, can you think of a better way to utilize them to help Americans?

Slavery got abolished in the United States because it was considered morally wrong. No slaves, no more indentured servants, if these people are so desperate to work, then let em work at fixing their own countries so they don't have to try to sneak into the United States etc. They can build all the stuff they need in their own countries. This stupidity needs to be ended, and the way you do that is by sending people home, and making it DAMN hard to get in illegally. Period.

Slavery would be a giant step backwards in the history of our country. While I do think immigration has gotten out of hand, your solution wouldn't work. Abe Lincoln freed the slaves nearly two centuries ago. It's demeaning and demoralizing. I think anyone who wants to be a citizen in this country should apply for citizenship and fulfill the requirements just like the people who came from Europe, Scandanavia, Asia, and the Mediterranean countries have done. It worked for our ancestors, now let it work for the illegals.

Are you for real? How about any one who wants to come to US has to spend 10 hours a day cleaning American shoes? After they recieve a 5star shoe cleaning rating they then have to move into shirt ironing etc Once they have proved themselves worthy they can then enter?
