HELL NO!

For you to suggest such a thing makes me think,UN-AMERICAN!!!

Why should we reward lawbreakers! Then punish the people who play by the rules.

The illegal aliens have damaged everyone in some way. They stole some Americans identification to work and get housing.

They abused our social services to the tune of $90 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR! Which every taxpayers has had to pay for!

The abused the the system so that the truly unfortunate and needy can't get help because there's Nothing Left!

If illegal aliens are given Amnesty the costs will triple!

What you are really asking is, can we forgive the bank robber and give him back the money he stole after he gets out of JAIL! The answer is NO!

Hmmm... anyone can pay lip service to anything ... so you mean if they've been here for five years, lying low, they could come out and become citizens by just mumbling a few words they would have no intention to honor? Because that WOULD in my opinion be the case with a lot of them ... no, we have immigration laws, and these laws should be enforced ... otherwise, why have immigration laws at all? This amnesty thing is just silly really ... we might as well give "amnesty" to killers if they haven't been caught within a number of years, or drunk drivers, or anyone else who has broken the law ... why make an exception for one set of law breakers?

They came in illegally and worked (most of them) under fake documents, also illegally. Seems to me they think the end justifies the means.

I'd have a hard time trusting their oath.

Or their documents saying they've been here more than 5 years, unless it was from a school, or property tax bill.

I believe that once they're here, they're here. Deportation can be too costlty. Unfortunatley if they are illegals, what documentation would there be in order to prove how long they have ben in America? As long as they're here, I think they shoud make an effort to learn enough english to get by, but other than that, I think they're fine. I don't agree with the mentality that they're taking jobs away from "honest hard working Americans". The jobs they take are often those that we Americans don't want.

U must be living in ur own world of white middle class who believe in Santa. What does the word " ILLEGAL " means to u ? What would u tell the ones who followed our laws, came the right way, payed taxes, filed & waited nicely in line for years ? U would tell them, " hey,..it's ok to brake our laws & that they were dumb not to break it & come legally ??? I have a friend from Ethiopia who came 7 years ago to the US legally & followed the law & he just got his G.Card ,after 7 years of spending money on IMM. Lawyers & headaches & he is pissed off that people like u make him feel bad for been correct.

Make it 10 years, and a 10k fine, and I'll think about it...on top of that, they have to sign an agreement that they won't try to bring their relatives to the United States.

If the ICE hasn't caught em in 10 years, well there's statutes of limitation on other crimes, I'd say 10 years is fair...but there should be a grandfather clause on that too, or whatever, where that only counts as of NOW so it doesn't encourage people to lay low for a decade and get their citizenship that way...

It doesn't matter how long they have been here. The point is, they broke the law and snuck into the country, so why should they be rewarded for it?

No, I wouldn't consider allowing them to stay. If they wanted to stay that badly, they would go back to their homeland and start the legal process of coming here legally.

THeir oath would mean nothing because they have proved they are untrustworthy by performing illegal activities. Short answer no, go wait in line.
