Uh, no. Lol. The're no dangerous than your ear lobe. The only thing is the upper ear contains cartiledge and sometimes depending on the individual it won't heal all the way. Now I have sensitive skin, and I had my upper ear pierced, but I ended up taking it out because it looked like a keloid was about to form, so I took it out immediately. But it's not dangerous honey no more than the tongue, ear, or nipple. Just keep the solution on it, and if you notice you break out or it's not healing properly or irritating your skin, then take it out.... Everyone has a different reaction to different things, so don't let it discourage you, but at the same time whoever told you or if you thought it was dangerous than that is soooooo not true.

All piercings are potentially dangerous. Make sure a professional pieces your ear for you and remember to keep it clean. Follow that and you should be just fine.

They have been known to cause blood clots on occasion. But all piercings are a risk. Just be careful and go to a professional that uses sterile material to reduce risk of infection. Good Luck!! :)

It can shatter the cartilage. If it gets infected, it can result in something called 'cauliflower ear.' But any ear piercing can result in cauliflower ear.
