In the UK? Yes, you can still be done for it. There is no requirement to place the ticket on the car, and no requirement to speak to you. You've been witnessed comitting an offence, and the owner of the car is liable to pay a fine for doing so. This also may depend on a few things. Did he actually get your regsitration number written down? Did he write it down correctly? Was he a genuine traffic warden (ie Police employed), or was he a parking attendant (council employed). They may have different rules from the Police employed ones. The above answer is relating to the old "yellow peril" Police employed traffic wardens. Hope this helps.

You may get away with the ticket but could be in trouble for not stopping for an officer of the law. Once you had left the parking bay he cannot lawfully give you the ticket. If I've interpreted the article below correctly.
Maybe in future you will have a little more consideration and avoid disabled bays.

No No No!!!! All this media hype about one word against the other is, well, media hype. A traffic warden does not need to speak to you personally to issue a ticket/summons you to court, does not need a photo of your parking, etc. All the traffic warden needs is enough information to identify your vehicle, and subsequently the registered keeper/driver.

What was a simple parking ticket could now turn into an offence of failing to stop, which could result in your arrest!

Well done - was it worth it?

If you were still in the car, you weren't actually parked, but stopped. However, you CAN be arrested for endangering the life of the traffic warden, and the ticket will probably come in the mail in a few days along with a court appearance ticket..

Believe it or not I was reading about this yesterday and the answer from a well known lawyer is that the traffic warden has to physically hand you the ticket or place it on your car to be an effective fine !!
Which is why the advice is that if you see a warden issuing you with a ticket then you can drive away and NOT be issued with a ticket providing it has not been given to you nor is attached to your car!!
Hope this helps...

that is not unlawful in uk to force away as long as you do not injure the TW jointly as doing it!! even with the undeniable fact that plenty you will possibly prefer to!! as quickly as he/she starts off writing the value tag the effective is payable whether the value tag is truthfully positioned on the vehicle or not. Sean B above - those at the instant are not site visitors cops they're wardens who walk around issuing parking tickets. they gained't often talk to you and you do not could sign something and that they don't assemble the fines - those are paid the two on line or to the council places of work.

you'll get done for it, in the uk its an offence to not give the details of the driver to the chief constable, the traffic warden is an agent operating on behalf of him (in the eyes of the law), so you should end up gettin done for the parking ticket and the drivin away.

When you do eventually recieve your summons i'dsuggest paying the fixed fine (my opinion) as it can be costly to get a solicitor as you cannot get legal aid for minor motoring offences such as this.

No, he cannot issue the ticket - how would he, you've left the scene?

Yes, if he has your registration number this may be pursued and dealt with at Magistrates' court.

You cannot simply 'get a fine in the post' without being contacted first.

Traffic wardens and PCSO's do not have the power to stop you, if that person stepped in front of you, that is unlawful. The Law changed recently they do not have to affix the notice to the vehicle. But in the MET they do not chase you very hard, as there are enough people who will pay up. It's all about making a buck for TfL

If he did what I assume would have come naturally, he wrote down your license plate first. He was probably going to ask you for your license or details there of to finish the ticket. Since you drove off he's probably going to have to go back to the precinct and look you up on the computer....AND ATTACH A HEFTY FINE.....Better get one of those traffic attorneys numbers out.
