Lots of places rent out space for wedding receptions: churches, fire halls, restaurants.... Look in the phone book. If it advertises they have room for banquets, they have room for weddings...

Hotels do wedding receptions all the time...if you find a location that you would like to hold your reception, try finding out if that location has a website or some sort of contact information. If you're looking for a unique location, it would do you some good to hire a wedding planner because they will know your area a little better.

That depends on what kind of wedding you are having (religious vs secular).

If you are having a religious wedding, your least expensive option usually is to have the reception in the same building/complex that you are having the ceremony.

Otherwise, there are botanical gardens, museums, restaurants, parks, train stations, historical buildings, bed and breakfasts, farms, etc.

The best way to find a place is to call around and see which places are renting out space for receptions.

Remember that you'll have to get dishes, food, tables, chairs, etc out to the place (unless you are doing a picnic on the ground in which case you only really need blankets, plates, and food).

I would also check with a party rental store, they could probably point you to some places you haven't thought of yet.
