I took the pork chops out Thursday so it has been 5 days. Are they still good?

If they were frozen solid when you took them out, they're probably still good, but I wouldn't keep them any longer. Either cook them today or throw them out. I'd probably cook them well-done if you decide to use them. Normally, I only keep thawed meat three days. If they still have a good color and no bad smell, they're probably still good.

i am -very- adament about how long i keep my meats after they have been frozen, as i worked at a restaurant and i saw some bad events occur due to carelessness. Being casual, I'd still use them after about 3 days- depending on how close the due date is. If it's past the due date, i woudln't leave it any longer than a day or two.. if it's before the due date, three days should be your MAX. Don't take any chances, it's cheaper to throw out a package of spoiled pork chops than it is for everyone to get sick.

Hope this helps!

in case you incredibly left them sitting out at room temperature all day, then they're no good. the right thank you to thaw frozen meats is to circulate away them below refridgeration for a whole day (while you're crunched for time that is o.k. to circulate away at room temp or thaw below lukewarm working water, yet for under a short while, and then change to the refrigerator). 5 days is generally the guidance for retaining uncooked meats so in case you had thawed them the suitable suited way they may well be effective until finally Monday.
