Linux, especially distributios like Ubuntu and Linspire, is very easy to use. Almost any program you need comes included, for free, unlike Windows. It is also much more stable and secure. You will *never* have problems with spyware, viruses, or malware in general. Most Windows programs have a Linux equivalent, ie. OpenOffice.org instead of MS Office, The GIMP instead of Photoshop, etc, all available for FREE.
So, what can you do on Linux that makes it different from Windows and Mac?
1. Have GOOD QUALITY and FREE software
2. Modify this software to fit your personal needs
3. You can CHOOSE: there are hundreds of different distributions with different target audiences. Some use Gnome, which is a simple and straight-forward environment. Some use KDE, which is powerfull but a little more complicated. Some come with Firefox, which is very costumizable. Some come with Konqueror, upon which Safari is based. Some include Amarok, XMMS or Rhythmbox.
There are many other reasons to use Linux. See the site below.
If you are looking for a good distribution and have never used Linux before, I recommend Ubuntu, which is really easy and you can use it without even installing it on your computer! Just download the ISO and burn it to a CD, restart you computer, and Linux will start! Be sure to check the forums if you have any trouble.
