from last year? The turkey is still in its package and I've had it in the freezer this whole time. What do you think?

The turkey package should have a 1-800 number for you to call. I'm sure they can answer that question.

But, if this is going to be this years turkey where it's the center piece of the dinner. I would suggest getting a new one since I don't know how well your fridge freezer works. If you had it in a chest freezer, it's probably in a lot better condition.

Give the 1-800 number a call.

WHen you defrost it, if you see white fuzzy patches, then it is freezer burned. I would make a soup out of it in that case. A freezer burned turkey will not have good flavor.

Yes, by now it is bad. You are supposed to use frozen poultry in about 3 or 4 months.

Someone's dog or cat might enjoy the old turkey but be sure not to given them the bones.

about 6 months ago....it is probably freezer burned ....6 months is a pretty safe time on fresh meats in your freezer...then after that they begin to burn...
