I smoke, but you're not allowed to smoke in Basic Training or AIT. The military only requires that you receive 4 hours of sleep a night. You get really dirty, you eat MRE's and you rip holes in your clothes...I freakin' love it!

I don't smoke. I work for 24 hours, then I get 24 hours off, during which I can sleep as much as I want. I am satisfied with the food and personal hygiene, but the new uniforms (clothes) could be a bit more hip. :)

Hehe.

join the Marines, i did it for five years and wish i never got out. Basic is tough but once thats out of the way you have a normal schedule - unless your deployed, but thats when the fun actually happens. Marines take "chow" pretty serious, usually it's allright, sleep is up to you once basic is over, usually you don't get much because it's more fun to go out and party, hygene is another thing when your out in the field a wet nap will become your most prized possesion. smoking is frowned upon so take up chew! much better buzz for the buck and you can do it anywhere and anytime.

I'm not in the army, but my boyfriend was for 9 years. Most of the guys in his unit smoked. He was one of like 6 who didn't. At basic training.. you don't get much sleep. Like 3 or 4 hours. The food is substandard and you're issued army clothing (BDUs). During training, you might not get to shower regularly especially if you're out in the field. I hope that helps.

I'm not sure you are smart enough to join. The word is enlist. Smoking is risky when you aren't in a combat zone. And you don't have time to light up in a fire fight. Sleep and those other things are in short supply in a hostile area.

If you want comfort--Stay at home with your Mommy. You might get a hangnail.

tehre is NO smoking during Basic Training, so you might as well quit now. healthier for you inthe long run anyway.

as for all your other concerns: strictly a personal choice. What one person considers enough sleep, someone else may not. same with the food.

I'm retired, not deployed, but honey, if your primary concerns are about getting enough sleep, good food, time to wash and clean clothes to wear, for God's sake don't join the military.
