when i bearly turn it up it cuts off and resets... don't get me wrong.. when i mean bearly it is pretty loud, but not that loud... the sub excursion is only alittle... the amp manual says it is happening b/c it is wired wrong... it is a 18" solox kicker dual 1 ohm. the wirings is a seperate wire only connecting coil 2 (+) to coil 1 (-) and the wire from the amp to the coil1(+), and coil 2 (-).....is that right for 2ohms?

Yes, wired like so:

you should have 2 ohm if the coils are 1 ohm each.

However, why are you running the amp at 2 ohms? Even though an amp may be able to push 2 ohm loads, it's not always best to do so.

It's kind of like, would you rather carry 100 lbs (2 ohms) around all day or a 50 lbs (4 ohms)?

Use process of elimination to trouble shoot your problem. First something is causing the amp to go into protection. Could be the sub impedance's are causing the amp to shut off. Second the amp is wired in mono causing the amp to see a 1 ohm load. Third a speaker wire is touching the vehicle chassis. Also your power wire might be too small for a certain distance. Yea it looks like you correctly wired the 2 coils in a series to make it 2 ohm. Use a multi-meter. Good-luck.

It sounds as if you have it wired in parallel correctly. Yes that should read two ohms. Is it a custom box or a factory one? Is the speaker new? If the box is ported, and not done right, or if there is a problem with the speaker it could be bottoming out, this would cause the impedance to drop. That amp should be able to power that sub if everything is set up right. What about the power supply? Does the amp have enough current? That could cause it to do that, or if it is not properly ventilated it could be overheating.

good luck
