I don't have a problem with it, personally. I think a main concern from a lot of people isn't actually the different race, it's the fact that if those two different people get together & have a baby, what will the baby be like? Now, whatever color the child ends up like should not be an issue either, especially in the world of today. If it should be perfectly acceptable for so many other things, including gay marriage to be, then why should it matter to anyone if you are purple? Regardless of what other people say or think, it's what's on the inside that counts & hey, it's not their life. I'm 20 years old & my husband is 38, the same age as my mom. We're not really on the same page but it's another thing that some people don't think is okay. It took a while for some people to get used to the idea in my family & maybe that's how it could be for you & the love you have. Good luck with everything. By the way, after I finished my answer I went back & looked over your other answers you've received. I don't even know what they are talking about you speaking "ghetto." It never crossed my mind when I read it the first time & it didn't the second time either. People on here make way too much of a deal of how people talk & spell on here. If they can read it, then it's probably good enough! Okay, just wanted to put my two cents in on that, cause it gets on my nerves!

now you're stereotyping the whites. true, i appreciate bi and tri-racial blacks, but i can usually accept that one does not have to be mixed if they're light skinned. i mean, i doubt it is 1/1 million chance of being light, but hey, you can have a very dark heritage and still appear light. everyone is born with their own distinct pigmentation. not all white people think blacks have to be mixed to be beautiful, it might just be you're co-worker. also, even if mixed blacks get the most attention in attractiveness from some whites, those people should also feel sorry for them, as well as other blacks, because it is the bi-racials that have the hardest time growing up, denied acceptance from either of their races, alone, and resentful of their colorings.

While that's true that it shouldn't matter what's on the outside I have difficulty with this because of history and what I see today.

You should ask yourself what you want for your future. Are his intentions good? Does he simply want to do what so many do and that is to get you pregnant so he can as they like to say "Add a jewel to the crown"? Does he have ambition in life outside of playing a sport?

Bottom line, is this kid responsible and the type you would want your own daughter to date or will he leave you with a child that you cannot support and ruin your chance at college and a future.

I know exactly what you mean and how you feel. I'm a black woman and I would rather date anything but a black guy. I dont choose to do this, it's just what I find attractive. I cant help it.

Anyways, who are you living your life for? Yourself right?
Then it shouldn't be a problem who you date and fing attractive. people find a problem with who I date, but I dont care because its my life and I do whatever pleases me. So you should do whatever pleases you. You fall in love for you, you live for you, and take care of yourslef for you, not for other people. If the guy makes you happy and you are attracted, then fall in love and dont let anyone else be the judge of that. No one has the power to contrl your actions unless you give it to them, so dont!

Your absolutely right. But black, white, brown, purple or blue, talking the ghetto talk is what is disturbing. Take pride in yourself and the people that you surround yourself with. If you both are positive contributers to society, it doesn't matter what your skin color is. But back off the Ghetto slang. It's not very becoming, and it makes you look like an idiot. The last thing you want to do is to perpetuate stereotypes. And your doing just that.

i like mixed couples. Im half black and half mexican so im a product of a mixed couple. My girlfriend is white and even though im mixed, i look slightly more black than mexican. I agree with you. You shouldnt care what other people think, they're not the ones that make you fell the you do when you're with him.

I think that we should love all people of all races. I know alot of people believe it's not OK to mix, but that's due to our beliefs back during the slave days. If you love your boyfriend, then what you feel is all that matters. We should love for the heart and soul, not the color of our skin.

Not a problem with it at all. We're all really from just one race -- the human race. We all look different and are all unique in our own ways. Why can't we just celebrate our differences and not place the importance of something so insignificant as skin color, etc.

The only thing wrong with you that I can see is your grasp of the English language. Stop being ghetto with your writing and speech. It's childish.
Date whomever you want. Race shouldn't be a factor.
