When I was 27 and spent 2 hours in the gym every day, my waist was 22 inches. Now, I am 36 (after having one child), my waist is 26 inches.
p.s. I am 5'3" and weigh 120 lbs

I don't know about averages, but if your waist is 32 inches or more due to excess fat, then that will put you at risk of heart disease and diabetes. Up to 32 inches is acceptable, but I'd say 'ideal' would be between 24 - 28 inches depending on your body type (no less, no more). HTH : )

That depends my dear on many things. First off did you grow up in the bible belt and have all those church pot luck dinners? Do you have a good relationship with your Grandma? Are Doritoes a problem? Perhaps cheesecake and bon bons? Another thing to consider here, is how often do you vomit??? Do you drive to the mailbox or walk there? Are you one of those people who park in the handicap spots to avoid walking the extra 10 to get into Walmart???? You see I believe with so many variables here, there really is no "average" .......now is there honey.
