the environment is a blessing from god...we are to be good stewards of that blessing

2006-11-06 07:32:03 · answer #1 · answered by Robert K 5 · 1 0

I am a Christian and concerned for the environment. Man's first job was to care for the earth and though we are in the end times that doesn't mean we trash the place before we go.

GE 2:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

Who share dar to proclaim being anti environmentalist?

It's not exactly anti-environmentalist, but there are alot of people that take "protecting" the environment to an extreme (e.g. don't cut down the trees, don't step on the bug, etc.) That, to me, is close, if not actually, worshiping the creation instead of the creator. God gave us creation to both use and maintain. We have not always been good with it, but I support environmental policies that allow sustainable growth.

I am personally not anti anything. I am pro Jesus. I believe I can answer your question. This world according to the Bible is in a fallen state and ruled by Satan who sets the tempo for life as we know it. In the book of revelation we are told that it will all be destroyed and replaced by a new Heaven and a new Earth. I can see where people who are Christian would see it as "not important" I personally don't care who owns it right now I take care of it the best I can. If Jesus delays his comming then my kids and their kids may have to use it.
May GOD richly bless you.

You can't honor the Creator by dislhonoring His creation.
You can't honor life by dishonoring the planet.
Bottom lilne, religious and/or moral people CANNOT justify being anti-environmentalist.

Oddly, the Bible basically ignores use of the earth. I can't think of any religion that teaches conservation of natural resources, which is a real boondoggle because, more than anything else, we humans need natural resources to survive!

We are not crazy, nor are we fanatics, like peta, green peace, etc. We do not believe that animals, trees, or even dirt have equal or better rights then we humans. We poses spirits and they do not. I am not advocating the hole sale destruction of our planet, but neither am I suggesting that anything has unalienable rights other then we humans. If I and my family are hungry then I see nothing immoral, or wrong with my killing an animal to satisfy that need, or cutting down some trees to provide housing for us. I do not believe that that makes me anti-environment, but it does make me practical.

It's because environmentalism is not a religion. And, some people think costing families their livelihoods is immoral, in a sense. I just wish I could eat fish again without mercury poisoning.

Because most of them believe their god put everything on this planet for them to use and abuse as they like.
