the more those really unhappy people try to pull you down. I swear they are out there on the hunt for happy people, just so they can rain on their parade........and some are really good at it. It just happened to me today. So what would be the best way to blow these people off, beside a little squirt of pepper spray in the face. I mean, come on.....these people should be quarentined so they can all stand in the rain together. How should I handle these people??? I was just encountered by one and she really brought me down :(

She probably didn't do it on purpose, but she what she said was very belittling to me. Like she was trying to put herself WAY above me so she would feel better. But she's always such a crab and I don't think she can stand that I'm happy.

Never let another persons' WORDS bring you down from where you are. The focus of their demeanor is like a storm...it will only last for as long as your in it. The things that that person says to you won't change what got you to your state of happiness in the first place. From philosophical readings, I am still a student in this thinking and in no way have I mastered the art of ignoring a person's words. However, I have learned to open my mind and truly see that this person's unhappiness has nothing to do with MY happiness. Resistance should not be met with resistance.

It depends on what their reasons are. Can you give us examples of comments and situations? I doubt most of them do it purposely.

If you're unhappy you're more likely to speak negative and thus bring other people down.
If someone is happy they're more likely to be positive.

What was said that brought you down though? I know what you're talking about but I find that I can only be brought down if I am in the middle.
I think if you're truely happy it's very hard for people to bring you down, unless they make a personal remark or you have to spend the whole day with them or something.

I would just ask them what was the purpose of the unnecessary or offensive comment they made or continually make. Ask them if they are okay, what's wrong? because they seem like they're in a bad mood.
If all else fails just avoid them. It's hard though because few people out there are happy! If you try to stay positive your mood will be rubbing off on them a little, whether you notice it or not.
I think it's just that being in the opposite mood makes it really obvious if people are being moody, when you would probably notice it less if you were in the same mindset as them.

You will never get rid of people like that,
learn to deal with them.
Ignore them is the best bet!
Stay happy and forget about the meanies!!

Oh, don't let the sympathy farmers bring you down! Just ignore them. But whatever you do, don't insult them. It'll bring with it a barrage of more miserable guilt tripping.

They do it because misery loves company. Just make your convo with them brief and be on your merry way. Don't let them get you down! Hang on to that happiness!
