I think they do.
I will tell you the same thing my Father told me years ago (he was a veteran policeman), he said never to take a polygraph test because it is not a science and there are too many variables that may be perceived as if you are guilty of things you have not actually done. He also said that certain types of criminals and mentally ill people will not show as telling lies because they know how to take the test or they are so mentally ill they actually think they have not done anything wrong.
Also, there are the variables of the person who is giving the test and who is in the room when the test is given...and the health and attitude of the person being tested.

Yes, some still use polygraphs. And some departments use something called a CVSA, computerized voice stress analysis. This one measures how your voice changes to questions. But still fundamentally the same and with the same end purpose, to catch you lying.

Most still do - even if it is voodoo science. (fake science for non-scientists).
What is really scary is departments that use voice stress analyzers. They aren't even accepted by the polygraph people

Don't know. The NSA did when I applied. Polygraphs are not all that reliable.

There are more now-a-days that use them than those that don't. They are not the most reliable things in the world, however a lot of agencies still use them regularly.

I would imagine they all do. They will not be the only basis used for the determination.
