Hiccups are caused by your diaphragm spasming. It's a muscle that helps control your breathing. It's important to singers and actors. There are many things that cause the spasm. All the solutions and cures for the hiccups have the same end result, to calm your diaphragm. Holding your breath, drinking water, dissolving sugar on your tongue. They cause you to focus on something else and the muscle will relax itself. They are extremely annoying, if I have the hiccups for more than like 4 min, I get a really bad headache ( probably due to lack of oxygen). You can try any of the hundreds of suggestions, they will all work. Mainly, just relax.

I have no idea what causes hiccups. People have tried to explain to me multiple times but I still dont understand what exactly is the cause. What always gets rid of my hiccups however is to take a really deep breathe and then without releasing the air take shorter smaller breaths and hold it for a few seconds. Drinking water through a napkins also works.

hiccups are a spasm of the diaphram. Hold your breath for as long as you can. Then release, take another breath, and hold it for as long as you can. Hope that helps!

I'm mot quite sure what causes them but to cure them you have to drink a glass of water upside down, I know it sounds messy but it really works!
