Abomination to the Lord????!!!!
you know what the LORD said about it and you still try to NULLIFY the Laws of GOD?
Leviticus 11:9-12 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

9These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

10And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

11They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

12Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

and please dont tell me that LORD Jesus abolish the laws
for Jesus said
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them" (5:17)

DON'T BREAK THE COMMANDMENTS!!!!!

Amen!!

It's simple, SOG: the old testament authors had the filet of fish franchise, and the new testament writers had the shrimp to go franchise. I'm with you, Lucky.

First off, I'm not Jewish and those are Jewish laws. Secondly, it sounds to me like its referencing whales, dolphins, etc., which are mammals, and not fish, and should not be eaten. I don't believe it actually says anything specifically about shrimp, crabs or oysters (though why anyone would eat an oyster is beyond me anyway). I do know that most of the laws had good reason behind them, whether we knew the reasons or not. Apparently, the bible tells the Jews not to each meat and cheese together, and I use to wonder why, until I read a news article saying that for some reason, it's really unhealthy. Yep, weird, but true. Many people are allergic to shellfish, so that may be the reason behind that particular law. Personally, I'd love to be a vegetarian, as in the days before the flood (God gave Noah permission to eat meat when they landed the ark since there was a shortage of good edible vegetation, meaning that before the flood, there was no eating of meat), but unfortunately, I don't care much for veggies.

Leviticus was the portion of the bible that dealt with mosaic laws as they pertained to foods and the preparation thereof. Jesus came and made all that un necessary as Gentiles are held to Faith and not law. He also said do not call unclean that which I have called clean. And further stated, it is not what enters the body through the mouth that defilith, it is that which comes from the hear that defilith the soul. Perhaps the soldier should buff up on a little New testament reading.

I thought Peter dream something about not eating all the "abominations," but an angel said there's nothing wrong with them. PLUS, those verses are in Leviticus, and Christians tend to study the New Testement.

- The Law was given to show that human nature would prevent people from obeying simple rules. Also, to show that works alone do not merit salvation nor do they always come from a pure heart.

1 TIMOTHY 4:4-5

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

My brother in Christ,

You must have missed the Bible study of Acts, Chapter 10, verses 9-16. The Lord presented Peter with a vision of a sheet filled with ALL KINDS of animals (emphasis mine). Three times, the Lord commanded Peter to "Rise...kill and eat." Three times, Peter said no, believing that he was being tempted. Three times, the Lord replied "What God HAS CLEANSED, you MUST NOT call common." ("common" meaning "unclean," again, emphasis mine)

When we are saved, the dietary laws no longer apply, according to God's Word. However, Romans 14:14-15 commands us not to offend our bretheren by doing something a brother PERSONALLY considers unclean when in the brother's presence.

Tell you what: if we ever dine together, let me know how you feel, and I will eat kosher out of respect for you. Besides, I LOVE kosher cooking (except for corned beef and Gefilte fish, but there's enough else out there)!

WHY do people keep bringing this up? we are NO LONGER under the law! which is OLD TESTAMENT!
we are in a new covenant! Hebrews 8:6,7,13 ...He [Christ] is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. For if that first covenant [the Law of Moses] had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second....In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

It's funny that you bring this up. I'm a Christian and I went to a sea food buffet this weekend. I had sushi and lobster. I got sick as a dog. I repent and I'll stay away from it from now on.
But what about what Paul said...?

Please refer to the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus Christ said "It is not what enters the mouth that profanes it; but what comes out that does so."

Now, if you wish, you may also quote the "rule" that "Thou shalt not eat the meat of the beast with the cloven hoof that does not chew the cud." and order all Christians to stop eating pork, forthwith.

And why stop there, go on and say that every Christian must also be circumsiced and that all Christian women shall cover their hair; because that is also said in the Old Testament.

And, aren't you forgetting the "Commandments" were given by Moses not Leveticus?

That's what they call an "old covenant", because of Jesus and our "new covenant" Christians don't have to abide by Jewish laws and customs.

If every Christian had to abide by "old covenanats" than everyt time somebody accepted Jesus they'd have to drop their drawers and prove they were circumcised and if they weren't...

Well thank God we Christians don't have to abide by Jewish customs because I'm going to out for sushi in a couple hours

Sweetie, If you know the bible so well, then you should also know that NO ONE can keep the commandments. They weren't meant to be kept, but were meant to show that you need a Savior, who has kept them perfectly FOR YOU. Because He has kept them and He dwells in me, then God looks at it like I've kept them! Are you telling me that I'm going to hell because of what I eat? If that is so, then Christ died in vain. The kingdom of God is more than about what we eat or drink. It isn't what goes into a man that condemns, but what comes out of him. Think about that. And for the record, you have broken the commandments, we all have, whether by thought word or deed. If you try to live by them, then you have to live by them the rest of your life and are already under a curse! Know your bible, please!
