I'm trying to plan our wedding but everything is so outragiously priced around here, I'm feeling completely defeated. Does anyone have any suggestions or contacts that might help? I don't really want to do a restraunt reception but I can't really be choosy. I want something elegant and fun that won't cost an arm and a leg...is that too much to ask?

I'd appreciate any suggestions and at this point any time of year will work. We have 150 - 200 guests we want to invite but that can definetly narrow it down. PLEASE HELP!

Actually, my sister in law got married at the Wyndam hotel in Orange County. It is beautiful. They have different packages for weddings. Their space is sooo pretty. They have a lake where you can get married by the water. The reception area is right there also. You can have a nice evening reception outside and inside. It was amazing, especially for the price. Nice weather too. Congratulations, and Good Luck!

Wow...with 150-200 guests you are going to pay through the nose, no matter what...you might want to think about cutting the guest list down to 75-125 and having an hors d'ouvres reception. Instead of a sit-down or buffet, it is much cheaper to do passed hor d'ouvres and stations only. The wedding ceremony shouldn't cost much at all if you're doing it in a church. Forgo the florals and stick with something simple for your bouquets...

Can't think of the name of it, but there is a restaurant right on the bay in Long Beach. My sister's reception was there during the week. The problem is that your guest list may be too high for a restaurant banquet room. Most of those are limited to about 50 or so people.

Try the venue California Plaza in Buena Park, my friends are getting married there and not only is it affordable (the groom is cheap) but it is very beautiful. We decided not to have our reception there because I am getting married after them.

It is affordable and somewhat hidden, I always pass by it on my way to work and never realized it was there. It's off the 91fwy on Beach Blvd. Across from Midevil times and behind Po'Folks Restauarant. It's like $20-$25 per person depending on what you pick. And trust me that is affordable, everywhere I have looked it's like $50 per person.

Goodluck!
