We never argued or anything, but now that I am out, she still tells me she loves me, but we fight all of the time and she wants me to sacrifice everything for her, but she doesn't want to for me. Am I being paranoid or does she not want to be with me anymore? She lives 3 hours away. She gets mad when she has to drive here, knowing I don't have a reliable vehicle where I can' t go see her. She always wants me to ask my brother for a ride. What should I do?

My husband has been a federal prisoner for 26 years.

You didn't say how long you were inside, but I'm assuming you two are young, and you weren't in very long. Is it possible that in that time, she made a lot of sacrifices and maybe she feels it's your turn?? How often did she visit you? What did she have to spend for gas, motels, restaurants? Did she send you commissary money? Did she write you? Did she take your phone calls? Did her family get pissed off at her for sticking with you? When you went, did you leave her with all the bills and all the responsibility? Are her charge card bills out of sight because of you? Did she have to move because of you? Did she have to leave a good job or good friends?

If you answered yes to three or more of those questions, Bubba, get a real job, get a real ride and go kiss the ground she walks on, if she'll let you. Do you know how many guys DON'T have a woman waiting on them by the time they get out? You're being tested to see if you have the cojones to win her back, and it sounds to me like you're failing big time.

Good luck to you.

3 hours there, 3 hours back. 6 hours altogether.
You need to find a way to see her without her doing all that driving. If you want to stay with her, someone has to move eventually. She will get tired of this and move on. She may have moved on already and 6 hours on the road is taking away from her new man.
I don't know how long you were locked up, but the long distance is not working for her anymore. She needs you with her. Shorten the gap or lose her.

Realize that she has learned to live independent since while you were imprisoned. Fact is you mad a mistake, paid for it and are now a free man. So guess it's time to do the responsible thing and get a job, start paying bills (including purchase of car so you can visit your gal) etc. Perhaps she is feels a bit overwhelmed with changes at present and this is reason she is being so short with you. Or maybe she feels that you are taking advantage of her asking her to do all the driving for visits.

She shouldn't care how long it takes to see you, if she loves you she should be driving on adrenalin. I would sit her down and ask her what it is she wants from this relationship. Tell her how you feel about her and ask her how she feels about you. Communication is the key here and just as a tip, try not to blame her by using the word, you. Try to use the words, I feel.... Good luck, I really hope things work out the way you want them to. But I know I wouldn't be fighting with the man I love. I would be grateful to talk to him and to drive over and see him. Maybe while you were away, her feelings changed, but the only way to really know is to ask her.

Why not ask your brother once in a while so its not a job to him, and the times he can't maybe she can go to you, or even better get a better car and go see her, but if you do this tell her she has to sacrifice things for you as well!

Let her go. Just break up with her because she's not helping you in your life. You just got out of the pen and you need sometime to get back on your feet. If she can't understand that then let her go because they're are tons of women out there that will understand. Get your money right, get a car, and get an apartment first. The women can smell a winner.
