Ok, I colored my hair black with Natural Instincts Midnight Black out in 28 shampoos. My hair was a dark blonde, so DUH! this stuff is not coming off. I bought some L'oreal haircolor remover kit and an ammonia free permanent(also by L'oreal) in dark brown to put on after stripping it, but I am hesitating to use it because of the awful stories I have heard. Any hope here? Will my hair fall out?

No your hair wont fall out. I had to do it too. I dye my hair black and had to change back so I use stripper and dye it a medium brown. Just make sure use the conditioner with the hair dye. I use it every other day for week to besure my hair didnt get damage from stipper. Good Luck with it.

I did the exact same thing you did. I was tired of the black, so I bought L'oreal Hair color Remover and used it. It totally took out the black and, once I re-dyed it brown, my hair looked great. I agree with the other posters, you MUST use a good conditioner afterward to keep your hair from becoming too dry. It won't make your hair fall out as long as this isn't something you do every week.

I did the same thing!! DO NOT STRIP YOUR HAIR! What I did was, color in stages. First with a dark brown., waited a week, then with a med brown, then a med brown again. One you finish that at home, go have highlights put in your hair, blonde or caramel. The highlights will soften up the dark hair. I have a daughter who stripped her hair (by a professional--which cost lots of money) - spots of her hair will not accept color now. And doing that burns a bunch. Try the stages of browns, then professional highlights! It works! NO MORE BLACK

I suggest you going to a professional before you end up with no hair, or green hair. In order to take black dye you have to strip and that can be a long process, using chemicals that could badly damage your hair so go to a professional, and don't take any chances.

The best thing to do first is to call the number on the back of the box and ask them how to fix it (if you can't afford to go to a salon and have them do it). I once tried to lighten my dark brown hair and it turned orange. Customer service for the company was able to tell me (once I told them my natural hair color and texture, etc.) what color to buy in order to bring it back to my desired shade. I wouldn't go doing anything further until you talk to a professional.

go for it. I did the exact same thing a couple of weeks ago, but my (very weak and thin) hair held up fine. It might dry out your hair, so make sure you get some deep conditioner for the week after.

Go to the hair dresser and have them strip the color out on your hair because it can take hrs and you will need a good conditioning after and they have the right kind of chemicals so that your hair wont get messed up

You are not supposed to sye your hair with those boxes you do it professionally. You use those to conserve your haircolor when you are older and get grey hairs. Some of your hair may fall out evetually. But do not sye your hair with any of those boxes anymore. Go to a salon now and they will fix it up. If you put more dye yourself you will just mess it up.The salon people know exactly what to do. Your hair may seem fine now but as time goes by your hair will fall out so dont do anything yourself.

go see a professional. They may need to do a bleach bath, depending on the condition of your hair. It may take a few attempts, especially if your concerned about the health of your hair!
