OMG there r sooo many weird answers!!!!!!!!!!
islam did say that jesus is a prophate
Muslims respect and venerate Jesus Christ. They consider him to be one of God's greatest messengers to humankind. The Qur'an re-affirms his miraculous birth and his miraculous abilities. Furthermore, his mother Mary is regarded as one of the most pure and exalted women of all creation. As the Qur'an says:
Neither Muhammad nor Jesus came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in One God, brought by earlier prophets, but to confirm and renew it. In the Qur'an, Jesus is reported as saying that he came: "To attest the law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you; I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear God and obey me." (Qur'an 3:50)
In the Qur'an, Christians are often referred to as among the "People of the Book," i.e. people who have received and believed in previous revelation from God's prophets. There are verses that highlight the commonalities between Christians and Muslims, and other verses that warn Christians against sliding towards polytheism in their worship of Jesus Christ.
In the Qur'an, stories about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ (called 'Isa in Arabic) are abundant. The Qur'an recalls his miraculous birth, his teachings, the miracles he performed by God's permission, and his life as a respected prophet of God. The Qur'an also repeatedly reminds that Jesus was a human prophet sent by God, not part of God Himself. For more detailed information about what Muslims believe about Jesus, please visit the FAQ index page. Below are some direct quotations from the Qur'an regarding his life and teachings.
"Behold! the angels said, 'Oh Mary! God gives you glad tidings of a Word from Him. His name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter, and in (the company of) those nearest to God. He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity.
He shall be (in the company) of the righteous... And God will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel'" (3:45-48).
"He [Jesus] said: 'I am indeed a servant of God. He has given me revelation and made me a prophet; He has made me blessed wheresoever I be; and He has enjoined on me prayer and charity as long as I live. He has made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable. So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)!' Such was Jesus the son of Mary. It is a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute. It is not befitting to (the majesty of) God that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! When He determines a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is" (19:30-35).
"When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: 'Now I have come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which you dispute. Therefore, fear God and obey me. God, He is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him -- this is a Straight Way.' But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement. So woe to the wrongdoers, from the penalty of a Grievous Day!" (43:63-65)
"And behold! God will say [i.e. on the Day of Judgment]: 'Oh Jesus, the son of Mary! Did you say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of God?' He will say: 'Glory to Thee! Never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would indeed have known it. You know what is in my heart, though I know not what is in Yours. For You know in full all that is hidden. Never did I say to them anything except what You commanded me to say: 'Worship God, my Lord and your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I lived among them. When You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a witness to all things'" (5:116-117).
"Christ, the son of Mary, was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how God makes His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!" (5:75).

Yes I do know their belief that Jesus was only a Prophet.
I can also imagine 1500 years from now, Dan Brown will be viewed as a prophet in some religious sect also. Just as others that deny the Catholic Church is the "pillar and foundation of truth".
Mat 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (only the Catholic Church has existed since the 1st century)
1Ti 3:15 But if I should delay, that you may know how you ought to behave in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

The Muslim Jesus is not the Christian Jesus nor any of the Muslim so called prophets prophets of God. How could they be? The Muslim religion disavows the word of God prior to them as corrupt so they have formed their own religion and use the names of the prophets and the son of God to gain credibility while calling their teachings corrupt. the Abraham taught by Muslims could not be the Abraham of our forefathers as they teach that these scripture are corrupt and the only knowledge anyone has of Abraham come from these scriptures. It is a Muslim belief that these scriptures are corrupt but that their prophet Muhammad interpreted a different and more accurate scripture which according to the God everyone prior to Muhammad would have worshiped would have to called a false prophet and a different god and religion. The name Abraham is used in the Muslim religion as is the name Moses and the name Jesus but these teachings are rewritten and all of the teaching we had of these men are considered corrupt. Therefore the fact that they cal on the names of the prophets are meaningless and the name of the son of god is also meaningless if you call his teachings corrupt and rewrite the teachings of the true prophets of God. So to say that the Muslims worship the same god as Abraham or our forefathers or even speak of the same Abraham or Jesus is very misleading.

Yes I already knew that, but they only believe Jesus was a prophet, not the Son of God. But that's a position that just doesn't make sense....
As CS Lewis put it, "I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

I think the term used in the Qua'aran is "Massihe" or "Messiah", not Prophet. I'm saying this to help you not lose some points in your assignment, for this mistake.
And, "Yes", I think it's fairly common knowledge that Islam recognises Christ and even the New Testament in some parts in what is called the "Injeel".
However, there are some differences in the sense that Jesus, according to Islam, did not die on the Cross.
It might also help your assignment if you were to quote that Muhammed said, I'm sorry, but you'll need to find the correct verse, -"He who blasphemes against Jesus, blasphemes against me and he who blasphemes against me, blasphemes against God."
It's a very great pity that a lot of Muslims don't know this or make the mistake of blaspheming by saying bad things about Him.

Yes, this is true. But how come, they do not believe in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of Mary? Islam came after 600 years of Christianity. Muhammad was not born yet when all these historical and Biblical events occured. Why did he proclaim these truths as lies and never happened. Just who was he? He definitely had an ultimate motive as to bear false witness against Christ. Best of all, why are Christians persecuted and killed by Muslims to this very day, as if they are not creatures of God like themselves, since the inception of their faith?

islam has absolutly nothing to do with Jesus The Christ or His mother. IMO(in my opinion) islam is the greatest evil facing the world today. And, IMO, The One True God, The creator of ALL, will ultimatly eradicate the evil that is islam. There is, IMO, only One True Church and that is The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. Only those of The Church will enter heaven.
It is a great sadness that so many, IMO, good people are being deceived by the evil that is islam and will be lost for all eternity.

Yes. I am a knowledgabe Christian who understands other beliefs than my own. But I can tell your'e Catholic. Here's a survey: did you know that worshipping the mother Mary is a form Baal worship; which is the same as devil worship. It says specifically not to worship the mother Mary for she was a sinner just like the rest of us. And you don't need to wish peace upon Christ the Lord as through Him all peace is possible.

Yes I was aware that the Muslim religion relegates Jesus to the role of a prophet as opposed to his rightful spot as son of God and savior of man.

I am well aware of what the koran says about Jesus. However, it contradicts what He said about Himself. Even as a child, Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. (Luke 2:49b "...I must be about My Father's business")
Even the Father Himself acknowleged Jesus as His Son (Matt. 3:17b "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.")
If Jesus is only a prophet, and not the Son of God, then both Father and Son must be liars. Would you consider holy a "prophet" who is a known liar? Would you worship a liar? I know I won't and don't. Jesus is no prophet, but wholly God and (at one time) wholly man, who gave His earthly life to pay the price for our sins.
