It just means that your oven is now heated to the temperature you set it for (355). Your chicken will take about an hour (more or less, depending on the size of the chicken) to bake.

It may be done if you have a temperature in the bird. But the bird would have been burned up if the internal temperature were 355. Just put it in the oven at 325 for 1 hour, during the last 10 minutes take the cover off the pan.

Sometimes the oven has a preheat measure. Did it beep after about 10 minutes? That means put your chicken in now. The chicken will have to cook 1 hour if it'sa whole chicken or 20 to 30 minutes if it's chicken parts such as legs or thighs in a 350 oven.

Click Bake, then click 375....wait. When the oven is properly heated in will beep (that will be in 5 minutes or so); must be what you heard.
2 1/2-3 lbs. =1 1/4 to1 1/2 hrs.
3 1/2 -4 lbs.= 1 3/4 to2 hrs.
41/2 -5 lbs= 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 hrs.
Baste with juices every so often.

The oven has to preheat first - to warm up to the 355 degrees and once it has reached that temperature it will beep to let you know you can start baking.

Lucy is correct. I hope her answer helps. Also did you empty the cavity (inside the chicken)? Is it thawed? it should at least be thawed enough to get the giblets (stuff inside) out. If you don't have a meat/cooking thermometer get one and be sure that the breast and the thigh meat (not against the bone) is 180 degrees, or that when you grab the leg the thigh joint moves easily. Good luck.

How soon after did it go beep beep? It probably just means it has reached preheated temp. Did you turn the timer on? If you turned the timer on and set the time when the time is up it will beep every few min. until you turn it off.
