Types of Doctors/Areas of Medicine
There are more than 60 specialties - each is unique but there are many characteristics which are common. You will need to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team in virtually every specialty. Some require particular skills, such as an ability to make decisions in life-threatening situations or confidence with computers. Many require an interest in teaching or research and some require particular manual dexterity.
Medical specialties broadly fall into one of the following categories.

Don't preoccupy yourself with these types of decisions now. All medical students work in many fields during their third and fourth year of school. You will find a feel that you can pursue in your career in that time.

50 - no I can't name them, they've already been named. I would've called a proctologist a "turd burglar" if I had the chance to name them. That damn doctor stole my turds - he claims he doesn't have them. Yeah, right, I believe that.
