Well the long and short of it is.....I sent a letter to a man whom I am friends with and told him I was in love with him. He knows that I have feelings for him, but I don't think he realized how much. He and I discussed on occasion about developing our relationship, but its just getting more and more difficult to spend time with him and not want something more. He says he wants to develop the relationship, he just needs more time, but then he says things like, lets go on a trip soon just the two of us???? This has been going on since January. I already mailed the letter. And right now we are actually not talking for stupid reasons. Should I have sent the letter. I feel I have nothing to loose anyway???

It's too late to second guess, you already mailed the letter. I wouldn't have done that, personally. I really think that if he wanted it to go past friendship, he would've let you know before; I'm sorry sweetie, but I'm afraid you're gonna end up feeling hurt and embarrassed that you did this. I would forget about having a relationship with this guy.....

Hello:

I admire your gutsiness and directness with your man. I don't think you did anything wrong letting your feelings known.

As you said yourself, you have nothing to lose. If the man has had you hanging for a while it may be either because he isn't really interested in committing OR he was afraid to commit because he didn't know your true feelings or how serious you were about the relationship.

At this point you should expect an answer either way from him. If putting your heart on your sleeve doesn't motivate him to get more serious, perhaps is time for you to find another love letter recipient.

Good luck!

No you didn't, you should be proud of yourself. You absolutely had nothing to lose and now he knows that you're totally dedicated to whatever relationship could develop. I'm not completely sure why he needs more time, and I know that can be frustrating, but you did right letting him know where you stand. Now that he knows the ball is in his court, he needs to man up and tell you how he feels or else you need to move on and find someone who has the time to be with you.

It's too late now to second guess the sending of the letter, it's sent. Now you just sit back and wait i guess. You really don't have anything to lose. You will know in a matter of time if he feels the same way, be it by a reply letter or a return to sender letter. Good luck! And, please, don't waste your time on someone who doesn't feel the same for you. You will know in due time if it's real or not.

You are right, you have nothing to loose anyway! You put it out there now its up to him to react and act on it. I hope everything works out for you, if it doesn't I hope you know how wonderful and intelligent you are and there is plenty of time to go out and have some fun!

It sounds like he only wants to get laid, not develope a relationship. If you are OK with that, go for it. Otherwise get out before you get hurt.
