I'm kind just writing this question as it comes up.

So here's the thing.

There is this guy that I've kinda sorta liked since we were in high school, I would always flirt him EVERYDAY and it never bothered him at all. We are really good friends, and we have alot in common. Well, we meet again (we go to schools right next to each other) and i've been hanging out with him ALOT lately. At first, I thought I had feelings for him but in reality I don't, I just want to occasional hook-up with him. Has anyone here ever hooked-up with a close friend of their's ? If so, did it become awkward afterwards?

I just don't want to do something stupid that could endanger our friendship.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My current boyfriend was a really (and still is) close friend of mine. At first it was the occassional hook up but then things started to change for the better and we became a full fledged couple. If you think you are mature enough to have this relationship with him and not get mad if he hooks up with other girls or doesn't immediately respond to phone calls or text messages, then go for it. If you only want to hook up with him occassionally make sure he knows what your intentions are. If you are upfront with him now there will be no confusion in the future if something happens. Good Luck.

That happened with me, sort of.
My ex and I would hang out and be friends, but every once in a while we had sex. It was okay for a long time.
Then it went bad afterwards.

I did stuff to her that really annoyed her then she didn't want sex with me anymore. Especially since she was looking for a boyfriend. It ruined our 5 year friendship. I realize what I did wrong, but she's not ready to accept my apology. Trust me, that's the truth, not an excuse.

It's never simple. At some point it'll get uncomfortable. Be sure to talk to him and set the expectations of the relationship. No matter how you approch it, don't be suprised if one of you get attached and the other doesn't, then the friendship could go sour.

i don't do hook ups (casual sex isn't for me), but you have to know if he's open to that kind of thing. just ask him in conversation what he thinks about booty-calls. if he asks why just tell him it was part of an online discussion. if he says it's cool, jokingly ask if he would ever hook up with you on an "as needed basis" and see where things go from there.

If you feel he's more of a friend, avoid the "romance"...
