Preferably a hotel within walking distance to shops / restaraunts / the water? Under $150 per night? I did a search online but I was looking for suggestions from people who live in the area or have a place they love to stay at out there...Thanks :o)

The only one that comes to mind is The Hilton Waterfront, on PCH, near Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach. It is within walking distance to the beach, the pier, and Main St. shops. Rooms, however, are pricey (haven't seen one less than $229/night)
