The bananas for this recipe are best when they are old, brown and mushy. I let my bananas sit out for at least a week. If I’m not ready to bake bread that day, I put them in the freezer. If they have been frozen the flavor is even better. After they have thawed they have a strong banana liquor scent. This adds awesome flavor.
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup Butter Flavored Crisco Sticks
2 cups flour
2 eggs
1 cup mashed banana (2 bananas)
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
½ tsp. ginger
2 tsp. vanilla
Beat all ingredients except bananas until crumbly. Mix bananas together separately to form a lumpy liquid, not too smooth. Mix with bread batter by hand. Add more cinnamon or nutmeg if the flavor is needed. Bake in a well-greased bread-baking pan at 350 for 1 hour.

This recipe is easy and makes a nice, moist banana bread.
One-Pan Banana Nut Bread
1/3 c vegetable oil
1 ½ c mashed bananas
½ tsp vanilla
2 1/3 c Bisquick
1 c sugar
½ c chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat all ingredients together vigorously. Pour into well greased loaf pan. Bake 55 to 60 minutes. Turn out on rack to cool.
[If you don’t have ripe bananas, place 2 or 3 bananas in the freezer. They will turn black after a day or so. This means the sugars have developed. Remove and defrost- they will probably be a bit mushy. Use them in this recipe.]
