You can become an emancipated minor. You will need income, residence andprove that you will continue your education. You will need to prove this to a judge in court. If there is violence in your home or some other misconduct you can always get a lawyer to help you get out. Yes lawyers cost money. But some will do payments or community service (free) in some circumstances. But if you just leave your parent(s) can sent the poice after you and then you will be on the other side of a judge.

I am 21 and have been on my own since I got pregnant at 15. It was easy for me to leave since I was going to have a baby, not to say that was a good thing, don't do it. when i left i thought i would have the life i always dreamed about, but boy did my dreams lie. although in your case i also know that if you are 6 to 8 months away from turning 18 you can leave if you have aplace to go and a job of some kind to support your self. what ever you do finish school you have your whole life to party and hag w/ friends, etc.

you could desire to be 18 until eventually you and your parents flow to a courtroom listening to which you would be emancipated. because of the fact of this you're leagally an person to shield your self, yet you nonetheless can't do factor like purchase ciggarettes. If that's what you're making plans on doing, i might think of returned. i actually am basically 17. i'm going to be 18 in a month. i replaced into desirous to flow out ideal away yet some co-workers talked to me approximately it and it somewhat have been given me questioning. you will desire to truly stay residing house as long as you could. it somewhat is a unfastened place to stay (atleast lots extra inexpensive than your guy or woman place) and you may get an entire time job and save up a great number of money so which you're surely waiting to finacially help your self. you do no longer % to be out on your guy or woman residing paycheck-to-paycheck. questioning if you are going to diminish this months lease of your crumby house. save sufficient money so which you will get a advantageous little place which you will somewhat arise with the money for with particularly some spending/saving money for bigger and extra suitable issues. What ever determination you're making, stable success!

well it depends on if your parents will allow you to.. because they can call the cops and say you ran away.. and maybe arrest you (happened to my sister a while back) ... but I left my house at the age of 17!!! I moved out with my sister and i did just fine.. I graduated high school with honors, attended college, and kept a steady job... I mean it's possible.. Just don't do it over a stupid reason like a Petty fight with your parents.. I did it because i wanted more independence and and I am very happy I did it because i got to do what i wanted with the happiness of knowing that I did it on my own!!!! Good Luck and if you need to talk bout the real pros and cons you can write back and I will give you my information!!! (which I am hopin you will do... because it's always good to talk!!!)

depends on what state you live in. You could try joining the army or school, or both (west point, which is a great military academy which is free and will graduate you as a lt). You could try job corps or some volunteer group (americorps or peace corps)
i would suggest something like that esp if you don't have a highschool degree because it's hard living on your own, and if you're going to leave you want to but youself in the most advangeous position as possible.
Good luck

Yeah, you can, but you should have a game plan......do you have a job, are you going to finish school, will your parents emancipate you? You should have all of that stuff figured out before you make the move. I moved out when I was 17, and it was HARD! But I worked my butt off and made it work. I'm almost 25, have been on my own ever since, and I wouldn't have done it any other way. Good luck. Just be smart about it if you do leave.

Only with your parents permission, if you leave against them they can report you as a run away.
At 17 your still legally a minor and none is goign to let a 17 year old rent a place and welfare is not goign to care for you inless you have a child.

well, I did, when I was younger than you. BUT I would say, don't if you don't HAVE to. I would have been a lot better off staying at home and trying to work things out, going to college and being young. I moved out way to early, grew up way to fast, and had a very hard young life. Now I am 34, married, with three kids and love my life, but I didn't have to have it so hard when I was young.
As to legally...unless you are legally emancipated, you cannot legally live on your own until you are 18. At least in this state. It may vary by state.

It depends on why you want to leave. Are you planning on running away or just moving out?? If you run away......that's not good. You will be looked for by the police b/c you are a minor. But, if you just move out, I guess you can do that. I did when I was 17. I regred it now, but still yet, I did.

I was always told that was a legal age to leave but not certain. I know its rough out there though so I would think hard about it. Is there a specific reason why you are leaving?
