My daughter has had very bad tonsilitus in the past, her last infection was last april.....it left her tonsils with crater type marks on the........a couple of months ago she had a number of white gatherings embedded in her tonsils.......i went to the doctors and he said something about crystals that form after tonsililitus....well last night she said that these white areas were irritating her so she managed to get the white substance out and realised that there was a huge hole in her tonsil.....she could even stick a cotton wool bud straight through it........and lots of white stuff came out.........today the hole has heeled.........what does this mean????

I think you should have you're daughters tonsils removed. It's a simple surgery that last about 30 minutes, and about a whole week to recover. It's not good for a child to be sick all the time. I had mine taken out when I was 15, and I wish my mom had done it a lot sooner. Getting your tonsils removed is a lot easier when you're little. Believe me.

Hope She Feels Better!!!

I recently had my tonsils taken out 2 years ago and it was horrible... I had what they called pollops on my tonsils. They were white and bubbly looking.. I hurt very bad when I swolled and I could eat or drink anything. I had strep for 3 months back to back before I had my surgery and it was the worst 3 months of my life.

I don't know what the hole means and why it heeled up as it did but I would definetly get that checked again. Just to be on the safe side.

Hope this helps!

The white stuff is puss...she has a serious infection! Has she been taking any antibiotics? Have her gargle some salt water that should help her a little bit for now (salt dries out bacteria...which thrives in hot, moist places) If this problem is chronic and happens to her alot i would seriously consider talking to a doctor about getting her tonsils removed....Either way you need to take her to a doctor and get her medication. This will NOT heal on its own.

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.

Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.

Puss, yes. Puss is what the white stuff is. She needs them out. She is not going to get better with that stuff in there.
