I believe government employees--teachers, judges, police officers, fire fighters, politicians--should not wear religious symbols while on duty. They represent the people, all the people, while on duty, and should not wear a symbol that would imply favoritism. Everyone else, however, should be free to wear the emblem of their faith or moral philosophy if they like, so long as their school or company dress code does not forbid it (and there should be a good reason for them being forbidden), and so long as it does not endanger anyone.

I'm not religious, but I am a true believer in freedom of religion and expression. For many people, their faith is an essential part of who they are, part of their pursuit of happiness. Religious symbols cannot harm me, so I have no objection to their being worn.

The people who wear them may be a "menace", but God! How could you say that they should be banned?!! Some are important to people's religion, and this should be respected, instead of banned out of fear and misunderstanding. Thye're the choice of individuals, and is if the government doesn't infringe on our civil rights as it is, now you're suggesting they take away another part of our individuality?!!! Not to mention that the symbols themselves do no harm, cause no harm, how can an inaminate object cause anyone harm? Like i said, it's the choices made by the people wearing them that harm people.

Symbols aren't a menace. What some people might do in the name of those symbols is a menace.

I don't mind people wearing religious symbols. This may eventually help us raise religious tolerance.

No I don't think that wearing religious symbols should be banned; however, I believe people who wear those should be cognizant of why he or she is wearing those said symbols.

There is no harm unless they are offensive, hurting others sentiment, provocative. Every symbol should be representing Spirituality, peace, discipline and symbols should not be for showing off but to keep ones mind focusing all the time on God.

what do you mean a menace? If you are so sensitive a person to be offended by someone elses religious opinion/belief then maybe it's you who are the problem. If people would just consider letting others feel differently about something then they do (you know, tolerance) then things like this wouldn't be a problem

assuming they are not in a practical sense dangerous or risky.

theres a big deal between wearing a sculpted piece of silver or gold on a light chain around your neck, and wearing something that obscures your identity from ready recognition.

wearing something that prevents authoritys who should be able to identify you readily, from doing so, (even if that is not the intent) when in a public space,... is a real, manifest public security concern.

it can reasonably be compared... but the circumstances make it obviously and blatantly different.

Yes. I accept everyone and anyone and do not seek to make anyone conform to anything so why should Christians seek to shove their belief in my face,

Wear a cross for all the right reasons but what difference does it make to the wearer if it is worn out of sight? If it is worn for the right reasons the answer should be none!! Sadly the real reason people wear crosses is to impose their beliefs on others - totally and utterly wrong!!!!!
