Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp which no decent human being would eat?

I think the toaster companies get kick-backs from the bread companies to put this setting on each toaster. Because every time someone throws away a burnt piece of bread, they're that much closer to having to buy a new loaf which means more $$ for the bread companies.

The manufacturer likes to put lots of setting on the toaster to impress us into buying his particular model. We only find out the 'burnt to a crisp' setting when we get it home and try it out.

so if you in a hurry to toast your bread place it in the highiest setting for a couple of seconds and if the wire inside the toaster is red hot put the setting back to the minimal setting and see you've save time in toasting your bread. try it, it works

Because they wouldnt sell as many toasters if it was only a one touch setting... People like having the options of going from low to high... it makes them feel like they have control over the situation... shoot i can choose to just burn my toast...

LOGICALLY ENHANCED

because when you put one slice of toast in the toaster on the highest setting it will burn
but if you put about 4 slices in then the highest setting will just toast them evenly!

or you could use it when you have frozen bread

So bread companies can make more money by you dumping away your 'blackened' toast, and getting another piece of bread.

This is a joint venture project to suck you guys into using more power/electricity, wasting more time waiting for the bread to toast, and using more bread when you didn't need to!

Hah!

I'm a bit naughty and use my toaster for potato waffles. It takes two good goes on the max setting to get them nice and golden brown.

Well it's like this, these people just like to still make us wait around to keep checking our toast (which we know if we don't it's going to burn) which is supposed to help us by doing the compete opposite. Don't you just hate these people. What can you do !

the highest settings on a toaster aren't meant for just regular bread
