And we will not be living there for at least the 2 first months. Basically it was built in 1971 and nothing else was done. The floorplan is AWFUL! Master bath is in the kitchen, no washer and dryer hookup or room, etc.........

Completely remodeled? I hope you got it cheap!
#1 Make a list of the things that "CAN NOT WAIT" and address those issues first.( such as electrical upgrades, plumbing problems, foundation, roof pest controll etc.)
#2 Now list the things "I WOULD LIKE TO DO", like enlarge bedrooms, kitchen & bathroom upgrades, windows, flooring etc.
#3 Take the two lists and see what "can not wait" and " i'd like to do" items are dependant of each other and prioritize those issues.
Keep in mind , bedrooms and livingrooms are usually four walls with electric and windows. Bathrooms and Kitchens have the most expencive components (Plumbing, Electric, Gas, Appliances, counters and cabinets) in your home.

May I suggest that you consentrate on your master bedroom so you can have a comfortable quiet refuge to relax in after every tough day of remodeling, then move on to the most important issues once you have had an independant home inspector evaluate the condition of the house.
Good luck , go slow, enjoy the proscess

if there are no walls to be knocked down, i think its wise to start with the kitchen and bathroom after any demolition is done
