My family does that all of the time! It's so annoying, it's just a way of saying what they want without getting in trouble for it. I can't really tell you when to consider it the truth disguised b/c you really just have to know the person. Sometimes it can really be a joke, but if you feel that it's just a snide remark then it doesn't really matter whether they meant it that way or not. If what they said hurts, or affends you I would say something. Like please don't joke like that, or something else. It may not always turn out the best, especially if you really did catch them, but if you don't say anything it won't stop. Good luck!

My "soon to be ex" husband does this constantly and his son used to. At first, I just ignored both of them, thinking they would stop if they didn't get a reaction. They didn't. Then I explained to them, privately, that it isn't a "joke" if no one other than them were laughing. That it is then considered rude and anyone who heard them would think them inconsiderate, etc. My step-son quit, his father hasn't. One of the many reasons he'll soon be an "ex".
This type of person will usually demonstrate other inappropriate behavior as well. It's best to keep your distance. It isn't, as a previous answerer suggested, acceptable just because they're male. Anyone who would humiliate their spouse (or anyone else) in public or otherwise doesn't deserve understanding. They deserve to be alone.

No. I tell my girlfriend all the time that her cooking stinks, but in reality I love her food. She gets offended and it's funny. guys do that to get a rise out of women. If I want to tease her, it's usually about something she takes pride in. It's nothing like a full attack on her. It's a guys way of bonding, I know it sounds crazy, but we are immature compared to you ladies when it comes to stuff like that. We act like we are still on the playground as kids. But some girls do not like that, they would prefer some guy that has a sense of humor like a rock. Guys tease because they like you. It's a compliment!

In my opinoin, the comic story was once slightly humorous. But, it was once wayyy too lengthy and it wasa little bit of a philosopher. Plus, I dont realise why they stuck bulls alternatively of elk, while th complete tale was once approximately catching elk. Where did bulls are available in??

I think males do this quite often, but don't take offence, listen to how they talk to each other.
