Yes we get along. There are moments when I think she tries to push the "he's MY baby" thing a bit too much but I deal. She's a little overwhelming at times but again, I just let it slide. She's his mother so to an extent I understand.

My partner has not long left me for someone else- and believe it or not part of the reason was because his mother hated me!! She has even banned me from a family wedding next year. I am not judging mother in laws everywhere but i have not met a good one yet!!!

Well I get along pretty well most of the time with my partners mother. Some days I just know I don't have the patience its going to take to put up with her so we just cancel those days if we can, if not I stay clear of her.

here and there - she can be very sweet but also infuriating as she demands her son's time on the weekends. He's taken to ignoring the calls at this point. The woman drives me insane. Ever see "Everybody Loves Raymond"? That's my mother in law.

My mother-in-law is great. She knows and respect that we have our own family life, but also that she is an important part of that. Our children worship there grandmother (and other grand parents), she loves to spend time with us but also we get on well enough to know when enough is enough. We share a special bond and for that I am very greatfull.

I did, she died four years ago, when I met my husband, I already had three children, but she took them in and told them they were to call them Gran and Grandad, and treated them exactly the same as all her other grandchildren. She was a lovely woman, and I used to visit during the week on my own. She loved looking after the kids and they loved going there, I miss her alot.
She was, in every sence of the word a 'Lady'

We're still weighing each other up! There's things I don't like - but I think that goes a long way. Sometimes I love her more than anything and other times she makes me really cross. I'd rather have this interesting relationshipship with its ups and downs that a bland boring one with no excitement!

Yeh, I'm one of the lucky few! My husband isn't tied to her apron strings though! We live about a 25 minute drive away but can go for weeks without seeing her/talking to her. She's more of a friend really!

Yes, she's brilliant!
Although Mother-in-law jokes are funny sometimes, they are a generalisation, so in my case totally inaccurate. My m-i-l is very kind, funny, and devoted to her family, bless her!
