I've taken a ton of pain relievers (motrin 800s, Excedrine Migraine) and tried to sleep it off, but my migraine is still there! I can hardly function. Any advice on how to get rid of this? I hate migraines!

If you're able to sit a computer and read the screen, I have doubts as to whether this is in fact a migraine. Many people think that any bad headache is a migraine headache. Have you actually been diagnosed by a doctor for migraine? We who have true migraines also have or know what we need to take for them.

There is a facial mask that you put in the freezer then place over your face to relieve pain. It's in the pharmacy section of the market. You may want to speak to your doctor about getting a facial X-ray to rule out other causes for your pain.

Hi there! I suffer from both chronic migrane and tension migranes. (2 different forms of migranes....which there are 4 different kinds out there) I went to a neurosurgeon and he prescribed topamax to me. I take it 2 times a day and it really helps. I would have migranes all day long and would be in pain. Don't take the over the counter stuff, there have been lots of recent studies that have proven if you continue to take those you become addicted to them and actually make your headaches worse. I suggest making an appoitment with a neurosurgeon (insurance should cover most of this if not all of this) and talking to him about what is going on. The topamax has really saved me and I still have bad migranes every now and then and for those he has me taking imatrex. But i'm about 80% better than I have been in a long time. Good luck and if you need any further help, feel free to email me. =)

For starters, GET OFF THE COMPUTER! I don't see how you can be using a computer if you really have a migraine.

Go sit in a hot shower and let the water pour over your head. It also helps if you leave the bathroom lights off.

Or, try going back to bed with a couple of ice packs. One to put under your neck and the other one on your forehead. Sleep some more. If none of this helps, then go to the ER. They can give you some stronger medicine.

I use to have that problem myself. I solved it by Using Vervain Tea. U get it at any health food store! Try the Tea 1st and that should work. If it don't use the Tablet form.
What a migraine actually is: A lack of oxygen going to the brain. This can happen for a variety of reasons most common is stress!
Vervain tea helps increase the oxygen flow to the brain. Also be sure to eat some raw carrots or other orange vegetable this will help the Vervain tea work better!
Many workers use Vervain to stay alert at Work!

Lay down in a dark, cool room and put a cold washrag on your forehead. You may need something stronger than the Motrin and Excedrin. My friend would get bad migraines and had to go to the emergency room to get some sort of injection to get rid of it. Maybe you could look into that. Do you have migraines a lot? Maybe it is something more serious. You may need to call your doctor if relief is not soon. Good Luck.

Try adding some gravol to the Motrin. I take 800 mg of Motrin and 50-75mg of Gravol (by suppository if I am already throwing up). This has been the only thing that has worked for my headaches. The gravol lets you relax and helps you sleep it off. I am a bit groggy afterwards so no driving please.LOL

lie down is a dark room, and cover your head with a warm face cloth...I suffer from migraines myself and when I get one that bad the only thing that works is popping the motrin 800's, lying down in the dark and no noise for at least 3 hrs

Look at your environment, what you eat, stress levels....all of this is tied together. Most people I have known, have had a severe reaction to wheat products, high electricity, or react to different levels of relationship stress. When you are able, put your mind to work to solve your problem....Only you will know best.
