Ok, here we go. I'm pretty much an Atheist. I have a religion, but it is godless. And I think a big reason for Atheists to argue with Theists is not out of spite or to provoke them, but because many people feel attached to their Atheism in a similar way to Theists being attached to their Religion. Not believeing in God has a big impact on your life, just as beleieving does. However, I do think that Atheists should respect Religious beliefs as much as possible (though, to a lot of us, religion sounds just like any other fairytale)

As a vocal atheist who posts here regularly, I don't ask questions or post answers to "get a rise" out of believers. (I conceed there are some who do...on both sides) However by far the rudest, most slanderous, intolerant, insulting, ignorant and illiterate Q&A are posted by the believers. I know you will disagree with that, but it is the truth. Overall the atheists who post appear to be better educated, more well read (including the bible) and have more coherent posts than the religious.
I genuinely feel that the delusional beliefs of the religious are dangerous to me personally, and to the world as a whole. My Q&A are to get believers to actually THINK about their beliefs, not just blindly accept them on faith.
It would be boring to be in a room with just atheists, all non-believing in things...what would we talk about? ( I don't believe in "X"...Cool, I don't believe in in "X" either)
Besides, it's not like we are a cohesive group...non-belief in deities/the paranormal and supernatural is really all we have in common. Also there are atheists who are "spiritual", though I'm not one of them.
If you are going to go through your life believing weird things, then you should expect to be challenged, and maybe get a thicker skin. If you can't answer the hard questions without getting angry, then maybe you should look into your beliefs more deeply to understand WHY you "believe" Is it just because you have always been taught these things since you were a child, or have you really got rational reasons.
My goal is to save you from your delusions, because those delusions impact on my life.

You're assuming we post stuff to get a rise out of you. Sorry, but this is a "Religion and Spirituality" forum, not a "Religion and Spirituality from only the Christian Point of Vew, and Also No Rebuttals or Hard Questions, Or We'll Report You" forum.
We can, and do post in the scientific forums. However, they seem to know their stuff.
I post here because I think it is harmful that so many people believe in religious superstition. Also, where else will Christians get the atheist point of view if we don't give it. As an atheist, I know what point of you Christians default to about us. So, it is in our best interests to represent ourselves here. Even if we don't convince you all to drop your religious superstitions, you'll at least get a better appreciation for other points of view. Then, perhaps, you'll be less likely to label us spawn of Satan.

I agree.
It would be nice if only those who believe in something would post here. Of course all the atheists say they believe in something, it's just not God. There has been a LOT of talk about what to do about this situation. Some say further sub-categorization would be best. Others say leave it alone.
My biggest grip isn't that atheists post here (I may not like it, but I can deal with it), it's the people like WSIDR. If we could permanantly get rid of him and those like him, I could deal with the atheists and agnostics.

Spiritually I relatively have got here upon R & S to be a deeply profound source of blended adventure and know-how. I benefit a lot suggestion from what I study right here ... and that i attempt to place it into training. It has additionally given me further information of the spectacular thing approximately some religions I until eventually now knew little approximately, and the realisation that the basis is often the comparable ... we are all searching for our source ... I stand corrected and I appreciate ur rebuke. I pray that some true atheist will accept ur proposal.
There's no such thing as a debate and discussion forum. This is a question and answer forum.
There is no such thing as a spiritual atheist.
This is once again a religion and spiritual question/answer section.
Atheist and such belong elsewhere. They are incapable of being respectful and insulting others. Show morality atheists if you believe it derives from ur parents!
If debra or spooky have left this section then its because of atheists not Christians.

Now if it weren't for Atheists, you would have nothing to talk about would you?
This question would never have been posted and you would have nothing to worry about during the course of your day.
If you read the title, it specifically says, "Religion and Spirituality". There are spiritual atheists.

This section is for discussing anything about Religion and Spirituality - It doesn't say you can only post here if you believe in it.

In case you haven't noticed, this is the Religion and Spirituality forum, not the Christianity is the One True Religion forum.
A thing and the denial of a thing are both 'of the thing'.

You made very wide generalizations, on both sides. I wish you could have seen Spooky and Debra M back in the day, when the report button didn't make them leave.
