95% of Christians accept the evolution of man, except in the United States. All major denominations accept the evolution of man, except some small denominations from the United States.
Some people won't learn even when other Christians tell them to quit worrying about it and that they are misreading the bible. They just won't get it.

Did humans evolve as well? Of course we evolved. Just look through archeaology. If you're interested in the evolution of human beings, yes there are still gaps in our knowledge that will likely be filled in at a later date...
You might like to check out some sites.

Please keep in mind that, not only does the physical human evolve, but so does the emotional and societal human.
Meaning that all evolution is, is the change in living things over time.
Most religious perspectives don't seem to realize that evolution does not talk about how all things in the universe began. It simply talks about how life changed to become what it is now. It hasn't stopped changing either. After all, that's what mutation is.
Human beings were not always what we are now. I'm not sure if it's a failure of the educational system that people seem to have difficulty understanding that fact because it's very obvious that most people don't have even the most basic understanding of science.
Last I thought was that biology, physics, mathmatics (beyond adding, subtracting, dividing, and timesing (is that even a word? lol)), geology, genetics, and other such important things, were part of the school curriculum.
Understanding evolution is very simple and easy if people were to bother to actually learn about it rather than just dismissing it.

Why do people take only two sides, God or Evolution, what about God-guided evolution? My belief is that evolution was guided by God.
I am a Christian and from an early age took an interest in biology and the origins of life, The non-Eden version of Biblical Creation parallels our current understanding of the creation of the Universe. I studied the theory of evolution while at school, yes there are gaps, fossils only form in certain situations. Evolution seems to work as a mechanism to explain the variety of life on this planet, anyone who believes it was just a matter of chance, hasn't seen the odds against it.

Human beings have a dual nature - biological and spiritual. That's what the Bible says - God first formed the biological human being from inorganic matter ("the dust of the earth"). There is no indication of what process God may have used to form this biological entity, or how long the process may have taken. However, at some point in the history of the earth and its life forms, God "breathed into" a particular biological being a spiritual nature, an immortal soul, and moral capacity. At that moment the pre-human being became human. It was at that moment that man took on God's image and likeness, for God is completely spiritual, not biological. Therefore, it is acceptable to believe that man's human nature evolved, just as the natures of all other biological entities did; but man could not have come about by biological evolution ALONE, because man is not solely a biological being. Man's spiritual nature could not have evolved. That had to be infused by God.

I agree with aspergerneil on this - God and Evolution are not mutually exclusive.
If Christians/Jews believe that the world was created in a certain number of days, perhaps these are just amounts of time? After all, the world as we know it, including day and night, was not created until after the first 'day' begun.
And it does not say that God created animals immediately into their present selves - why could he not have moulded them through the generations, like we can make things - do a draft and then another draft, or keep sculpting some clay?
However, in answer to the question 'why haven't all apes evolved?,' evolution holds that we did not evolve from the apes alive today. We evolved from a different, similar species. Therefore there are apes alive today that are cousins, if you like, of the apes that evolved into us.

I am a Christian and I stick to the Bibles teaching of creation 100%. I don't discount evolution totally though. In the book of Genesis God tells us how he formed Humans as humans. He also says that he created all the different animals, etc. He does not specifically name the animals other than that they are sea creatures, sky creatures, land creatures, etc. He does however, say that HE formed Adam from the dust and the breathed life into him and then made Eve from Adams rib. God also gives Adam rule over all the animals. Now if God had let humans form from Apes, I think he would have said that he did that. Having said that, I do believe that some of the different animals have evolved and changed be it from cross breding or just the condition of their living space that dictates their growth, etc.
By the way, there is nothing offensive about your question in my opinion.

Ever since I was old enough to study biology and could comprehend what it says about evolution, I have held the belief that evolution is a proven fact of life. It seems to me that there is a misconception about Evolution. Evolution is the history of Life on Earth. It is not limited to Man. It says that all species evolved from primordial forms of life. It says that our closest "relatives" are the apes but it doesn't say that we evolve from them. In view of all we know about geological eras, about prehistoric flora and fauna, we should be able to see that Evolution exists and if we take out from it the "monkey" element we can see a rational and scientifical explanation of the creation of Man BY GOD. If we stop trying to conform God's Work to our time frames, remembering that He is Eternal and therefore Timeless we may understand that the 7 days of the Bible may be seen as an explanation such as it is given to little children about things thay they lack the knowledge and maturity to comprehend. But Man has matured since Biblical times and the scientific knowledge we have now, even at our layman's level is far superior to that existing at the time of Abraham. And we must remember that we have that knowledge because GOD has chosen Man, among other of His creatures, to have it. There is no reason to feel one's religion beliefs threatened by Evolution.

I am an evolutionary christian. Contradiction? No. The bible clearly states that everything was created but science has proved that species adapt and evolve within itself. I do not believe that man has evolved from another species though. God said that man was created in his own image and that it was sets us apart from the animals. I'm sure that if humans could go back in time thousands of years, we would see that humans were a bit different than we are now. We have adapted and evolved to changing times but I am adamant that we did not evolve from micro-organisms. If man evolved from that then we would see new forms of human kind evolving before our eyes but we don't.

probable about 9 or 10 years old. My church used to placed on "travelogue movie nights" with an creation through a church member who were there. one among those nights, the travelogue develop into on the Galapagos Islands. there develop right into slightly bit a mixup even as the movie's narrator understandably began out with the historic historic past of Darwin, the Beagle, and Evolution. the fellow who presented the movie had missed to hearken to the narration first, and there develop into an uproar over the content fabric. The action picture develop into halted, then restarted after a jiffy. apparently, for some thing else of the movie there gave the impression to be some technical situation with the projector. The audio song regarded no longer to be operating. :o) obviously, i develop into intrigued at what they were attempting to hide, and checked our set of encyclopedias when we were given abode. that's been downhill ever when you consider that.

Micro evolution is a science.
This means that if you breed two different dogs together you could get a new type of dog.
Same thing if you breed to kinds of cat, you could get a new type of cat.
If you cross two types of apple trees, you could get a new type of apples.
Note: you MUST always breed or cross two types of the same KIND of thing.
You can not cross a cat and a dog.
You can not cross a apple and a carrot.
The Bible divides things by calling them kinds.
In science they are divided into species. But they are Turing to decide on how to redo the whole classification of every thing, because of related things being in different species and unrelated things being classified together.
