Oh boy, ignorance strikes again! It's quite obvious from some of these answers that the respondents know NOTHING about hypnosis.

Which is fine! We don't have to know everything about everything. However, I think it's best that you refrain from displaying your ignorance in those cases.

A typical hypnosis session does NOT involve giving over your mind to someone else. That type of hypnosis is STAGE hypnosis. I do not know whether it's actually possible or not....I suspect it's all an act, but taking my own advice, I will say no more on the subject.

As to whether it's satanic or not - that's up to you. It can be if you wish it. Even if I believed in all that, I would not find it satanic in any way, shape or form.

this is completely untrue. its simple as that... its just not how it works, your not really "at the mercy of someone else" as such, and satan definitely does not have control of anything, let alone complete control.

by the way, that "half awake/asleep" state as you go to sleep or wake up... is functionally similar to hypnosis. omg! evil!

Hypnosis is real, and can have very potent effects, people have had relatively signifigant surgical procedures under hypnosis(in place of traditional anestesias... I can't spell) and went through labor and not felt any pain, through hypnosis... quit smoking in an hour with it... its not evil at all. its a tool. just like a tool which can be constructively used to build things, or used to murder someone. (well, generally can't make someone murder someone with hypnosis...)
