Explain to your father why you do not want to do what he wants, as well explaine your are yourself and will do whats best for you, and that if you ever need him that you will call him when in doubt.

There's lots of parents out there, that would like to pick a career for their child or young adults. But I think it is up to the person that is going through this life time career decision on his/her own. If a person picks a career for someone else, then if they
are not happy on what their parent has pick out for them. The job
that they are doing will not work out. They themselves have to
pick a good career for themselves. So what you need to do is
think on what you would like seeing your self doing for the rest
of your career, until you retire. You will be more happy if you picked something really interesting So go to College and get
that degree or cerificate on what ever interest you. Let your
father know how you feel and what you choose is for your
best interest. Good Luck!!

parents seem to think they know what their children should have in life, they are not always right. just tell your dad that you understand what he would like of you but this is your future that you are talking about not his. it's up to you to decide what you want to make of yourself. by the same token, be mature, prove to him that whatever you decide to be, that you'll work hard at and make him proud -- then prove it to yourself, go out and DO it. good luck.
