I like Irish first names (I'm not Irish by the way)
My favourite ones are Seamus, Padraig and Cormac for boys and Niamh, Siobhan and Sinead for girls. Do you have an Irish first name yourself? Which ones do you prefer?

I like Kieran, for either a boy or a girl. I am also fond of the name Declan for a boy. I also like "Eamon" (Simon) for a boy.

I am with you on Siobhan. I had a friend in high school named Siobhan. We used to sing this song to her: "If you think it's butter, but it's not! It's Siobhan!"

I had another friend with a daughter named Siobhan, and we used tosing the Crewcuts song "Shh-boom" to her: "Siobhan! Siobhan! Ya-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da!"

I first saw the name Siobhan (pronounced, shuh-VAUGHN, if I'm not mistaken) when I was in Ireland many years ago. This was the name of our tour guide; a porcelain-skinned, dark haired beauty who told us all about the castles and the Shannon River. I'm also partial to Aislinn, Aidan, Connell, Conor (as in King Conor McNessa), Dhomnhaill, Maggie, Megan.
Not so much Brefne.
There are probably more, but this is off the top of me head.

My name is Aoife. Can't believe someone spelled it wrong earlier. A-O-I-F-E every vowel except u!! All my family have irish names and i will insist on it for my children when the time comes!! I love Saoirse. It means freedom. I like Eimear aswel. Nicer spelling than Emer.

Mine is Orla - as you can see, but I also like Deirdre, Maura, Lorcan, Aine, Conor, Rory, Roisin, Donal ... I've been told that Orla is a guy's name in Denmark. Not in Ireland!
