im taking a college cosmetology class and if your hair is a level 1 which is balck...so i would say either a dark red or a red brown. since your hair is so dark the color wont take. but if you lift into a different level then you can have a lighter color. if your trying to go from a darker color to a lighter one.

Go for a striking dark colour, like red, bronze or purple. I've seen a few people with black hair have white, or blonde streaks and they can look very aging (like you're going grey).

Good question! I have the exact same problem>. I tried to dye it a reddish color, but after 3 boxes, it still looked more like a brown. Maybe you should take into consideration your skin color. Then try a light brown or something.

I think a red rinse would look good on that- which means in the sunlight you would see a red tinge- you dont want to do a real dramatic change- but if you do want to- i would go with a few cherry red highlights.

Dark blonde fringe, sort of a side partain and some highlights not too light otherwise it will look tacky just a dark shade of browny blonde to look natural!

I found this web site. It is Clairol.com. You can enter a picture of yourself and change your hair color to a bunch different colors to see what you would look like. It is really fun.
