*sigh*...gelatin and vitamins?...no. Massaging the cuticle everyday for about 10 seconds each nail, and use a dot of olive oil, or even lotion while doing this. This doesn't break it down either as someone above me mentioned. I do this all the time and have twice the amount of nail growth in one week, as opposed to regular growth. Massaging stimulates the cuticle promoting more growth and the oil or lotion will help keep them moisturized.

All you need to do is eat healthy, balanced meals at regular intervals.(Exercise wouldn't hurt either.) If you are currently doing this and you nails still refuse to grow go to your nearest drug store and buy Calcitrate tabulates and a bottle of Sally Hansen's Nail Growth Treatment (and her nail hardner too if your nails are really soft.)
In anywhere from two weks to a month you should see some improvement. If you continue you doing this you will have healthy shiney nails and a new improved body to go with it.

Not biting them is the obvious answer. Calcium is the biological answer. Product-wise, Sally Hansen natural nail growth activator or sally hansen nailgrowth miracle work as long as you follow the instructions well. The most important thing is don't stick on false nails as they make your real nails weak. Oh and washing up liquid damages them so always wear gloves.

Nails grow a lot slower in the winter months but buffing them helps them grow as does rubbing in a cuticle cream but not too often as it weakens them. Keep them covered in a good strengthening varnish (like Sally Hansen Diamond Hard) protects them from breaking.

Good question. The answer is Protein.
I've proven that when I was growing up, all my friends couldn't grow their nails, Mine would always be long.. maybe not cared for, but long.
I started asking them some questions.. like what to you eat the most of?
None of them ate peanut butter like me.. I love peanut butter and ate it everyday.
so theres your answer :)
