it means that you want to start your life over, and begin new, you dont want to stay with the past anymore and live with your own ways. it means also that you now have a relationship with him and you are supposed to be a new creature, a different person., and follow Gods rules and His way.

It means just that, that Jesus is your God, that he died for your sins and that. Jesus can only be three things, Lord (God's only Son) "I Am, the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one may come to the Father[God], except through the Son[Jesus]," or He is a lier, or a lonitic, if he is the last two then He is not a good man in any since of the word, nothing has been left out of the Bible, all Truth is there, if you are truely seeking God you will find Him there.

First and foremost I would encourage you to read the Bible for yourself. Don't go on other peoples interpretation of what it says/means. Read it for yourself and the Holy Spirit will tell you what it means.
Making Jesus your personal Lord and Savior requres a decision. If a person believes that God "is", that is that there is a God, he may know that this God will be a rewarder of any who will diligently seek Him. I know that I, myself, am still just a seeker.
When a person goes on from here and comes to the point that he knows and believes that God raised Jesus from the dead and makes the decision, inside himself, to say with his mouth that Jesus is his Lord he is saved, born again, right then and there. Period.
It is as though there is a legal contract between God and satan that says "If they come just this far at any point in their life to where they will do this, then that's it! End of Line. They are born again and they are mine (the Lord's) and they have permanently escaped your domination." (Remember that to make the decision to reject Jesus as Lord is to accept satan as their Lord. Everyone serves someone and they are LORDed over by them. It is just that we get to choose who our Lord is.)
It is on this very point that the battle rages. Satan has gone out to deceive people into thinkig (1) There is no God (therefore you can't come to Him. (2) You don't want anyone being your lord but yourself, be your own boss!
This is a lie! Satan knows that if he can keep a person from accepting the Lordship of Jesus that this person remains under his (satan's) lordship and dominion.
It sounds like you made this decision long ago and you are now coming to think on it. Praise God you were taught correctly and you are already in!!!

God is the creator. there is no other. Jesus was Gods child like we all are. He was not the begotten Son. God has no family. We are the family. Jesus was born on the 6th April as revealed by God Himself
There is no Judgment day. There is no heaven or Hell. Heaven is to merge into the Lord and Hell is to go into the animal system. Jesus if you accept him as your Lord &personal savior. It implies that first you accept the Lord Jesus and second it means to follow truthfully the path as taught by Jesus. Then you can be saved otherwise not

To answer your question let's look at Romans 10:9 "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). When you say Jesus is Lord you are agreeing with what the Bible says about Jesus, as well as what Jesus says about Himself--that He is God in human flesh. Yes, the Bible quotes Jesus repeatedly saying "I am God."
The Bible was originally written in Greek. The Greek phrase ego eimi can only be translated to mean one thing: "I am God." So you see, we cannot recognize Jesus as nothing more than "a remarkable man." A "remarkable man" would not claim to be God, tell people their eternal destiny depended on believing this, and it not be so. On the contrary, if a man made these claims, and they were false, he would be a liar or a lunatic. If you have read the Gospel accounts I think you will agree Jesus was neither liar or lunatic.
Jesus Christ manifested the characteristics that only God possesses. He showed that He is all-knowing: the Scripture says He knew what was in man, He knew their thoughts, etc. Jesus exhibited authority over nature: He walked on water, He spoke to the storm and it became calm. Jesus controlled the evil spirits by casting them out of people. Jesus proved He is Lord over all afflictions: He gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, speech to the mute, life to the legs of the paralytic, He raised the dead.
If Jesus Christ is not God in flesh than His death was nothing more than that of a martyr. Only sinless, Divine blood could wash away our sins.
The final proof of Jesus' Deity is His own resurrection. He said He would be cruified, be buried, and 3 days later rise again. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a confirmed fact of history. On my computer at home (i am at work now) I have a wonderful e-mail I typed up proving the resurrection. I would love to send it to you if you will e-mail me with your e-mail address.
I encourage you to read through the Gospel accounts prayerfully and with an open mind. You are in my prayers.

It annoys me endlessly when people say that's all that is needed. That phrase comes from Acts 16:31 which says: They said: “Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will get saved, you and your household.” While its true that that is necessary, many religions who teach that it is the only means of salvation haven't looked further into their Bibles than that passage apparently. The Bible is very clear that it isn't just belief that is necessary to gain salvation. For example:
Romans 10:13-15 - For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved. However, how will they call on him in whom they have not put faith? How, in turn, will they put faith in him of whom they have not heard? How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach? How, in turn, will they preach unless they have been sent forth? Just as it is written: “How comely are the feet of those who declare good news of good things!”
James 1:22 - However, become doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves with false reasoning.
James 2:24 - You see that a man is to be declared righteous by works, and not by faith alone.
James 2:18 - Nevertheless, a certain one will say: “You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith apart from the works, and I shall show you my faith by my works.”
Acts 17:30 - True, God has overlooked the times of such ignorance, yet now he is telling mankind that they should all everywhere repent.
Matt. 24:13 - But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.
Romans 10:10 - For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation.
These are just a few of the scriptures that I found in the past few minutes. So its a good idea to really search the scriptures because there's a lot more involved and a lot more at stake than you think.
If you want to have someone help you fully understand the scriptures, contact Jehovah's Witnesses. They'll be happy to help you find answers to your Bible questions.

It means that you hand your life over to Christ, that you stop trying to live your life your way and accept God's way of doing things. You can accept Satan as your master or Jesus as your master, but you will have a master. If you believe that you are the master of your own life, then Satan is your master. As your master, Satan will lead you to eternal death----he is already condemned and cannot be saved; thus, he wants to destroy everything about Jesus and Jesus himself. Jesus wants everybody saved. This is spiritual warfare and we humans are caught in between. When you are saved you fall under the protection Christ. This does not mean that you will live happily ever after on earth, because you will experience adversity. It means that you will make it to heaven and live eternally instead of dying forever in hell. We are all born sinners and must be saved from our sin nature. Only the blood of Jesus can do this. there is no time for you to waste, for you know not at what hour the Lord will require your soul. You must accept Jesus on faith. Do not try to analyze him or God---you will perish in hell for your effort. Christ must be taken on faith and faith alone.

Ta I have no religion that I conform to, I feel that by catergorizing what my faith is, is to define something that cannot be defined, and the very act of doing so limits the possibility of the devine.
I believe that the only way is to allow yourself open to every way, that this is without judgement of right or wrong, because right or wrong is a matter of perception. Men have god within, we are gods pieces of him, the reflection of gods work. Once we acknowledge that then we accept the responsibility of our actions, not as a sin, but as a way of learning, so that we may know ourselves, and know god. Its says in the bible that we are god, because we know the difference between good and evil. God created us so that we would be light of spirit like a child, but we invited adversity, which means satan into our hearts, and in doing so a door opened. And once you open that door there is no turning back. The only way back to the true child like spirit of ourselves is to go through the motions of learning, and relearn what we already know. It is only then that we know that the answers is to have none. To empty ourselves, in order to feel full. Hell is a place that we as man create for ourselves, when we fill our hearts with judgement, this is the metaphor of meaning mans struggle within themselves. How do you live in this world, but not live of this world? How do you know of evil, but just by knowing are you not invited it in? This is the struggle.. I think that Jesus tried to explain this to us. That if we do not let go, then the ulitmate conclusion is that we will crucify ourselves, and man.
Think about it the bible is very confusing, because it is written from the inbetween not the black and white of this world. It is contradictive, because how do you explain that to grab onto something is to let go. HOw do you put that into words for everyone to understand, you cant. I say to you dont try to catergorize yourself, and dont live your life in fear of some judgement. We, you (man) we judged ourselves the minute that we were aware that being naked was wrong. When we werent aware is when there was no judgement. I hope this made sense if not you may email me. I wish you well

You would be wise to stick with christianity wich believes Jesus is God.
The phrase means you accept Jesus into your heart as you personal Lord and saviour and that you believe he can save you from the lake of fire.
Remember we all deserve to be put in the lake of fire becuase we all have sinned.Jesus is the only one that didnt. He was sent as a sacrifice for our sins;that whoever believes in him as God would be saved.
Romans 6:23-For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 3:16-For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I think I understand. I have never questioned that Jesus Christ The Son of God being my personal Savior. I believe Jesus was born by immaculate conception. I have at times questioned mans interpitation of their beliefs. We just have to have faith and through prayer we will find our way. Bless you.

It means that you understand and accept the gift that Jesus gave you when he was crucified and that you open your heart to receive that gift and that you will follow his ways. Simply because you say something does not make it so. You cannot get to Heaven through lipservice to an idea you do not fully comprehend and believe. I suggest you try to find someone to answer the questions you have with regard to the scriptures and once you have done that, then make up your mind. Most things that people say are glaring gaps or mistakes are simply misunderstood and can usually be cleared up with a little research on your part.
