Circumcision of male infants, that is. And also just overall, like of older guys. Do you know anyone who isn't circumcised?

In my human sexuality class, we watched a video on infant circumcision. It showed the baby being strapped down to a "circumstraint", with his legs and arms strapped in. He started crying as the doctor separated his foreskin away from his glans, without any sort of anesthesia. The girls, after the video, said it was sad and that they didn't know they strapped babies down, etc. This other girl and I, realize circumcision makes it cleaner and are all for that, but can't they at least give the babies anesthesia?

circ does not make it cleaner...that's a lie...all a person has to do is wash it...you know just like a girl washes her body...our female bodies aren't dirty... nor is an intact male...its just a plain old lie. i hate circ...it makes men less sensitive...which makes it harder to be sexually involved with them. i love intact guys...i wish all guys were intact. yes i know a bunch of intact guys...and they love that their parents left them intact. they are happy to have a foreskin just like nature intended. not a one of them has has a problem with girlfriends or getting dates or having sex. no one has harassed them or anything. i think circing babies is just despicable. its a baby and your going to strap it down and torture it. they don't like to use anesthesia because it can affect a baby negatively due to their small size. also might be worth noting that babies have died being circed!...how worth it is that when not a single health organization in the world recommends it and babies can die and have died. they can also accident have their entire penis amputate or have severe loss of blood or other medical related problems. not worth it if you truly love your baby.

what kind of barbaric women does this to her child...as for a hospital heck they are getting paid its what they do they are crooked...its much more barbaric when its mom that does this.

We weren't showed that in any school I went to.

They can't do anything for the baby to not feel pain because it could kill the baby. They also cut off tails (common on humans, mid wives secret or whatever for thousands of years), extra digits and some times limbs/stubs,... all without anything to comfort the baby,.. under many different excuses.. includeing " They won't remember it" ... people remember their first day some times,.. alot of people have truma but their minds have tried to surpress.

Studies say there isn't a difference between Circumcised and Uncircumcised health,.. that's just an excuse people use and it's easier for lazy people to do diapers... but their laziness will still make the baby sick. Also there is an increase in problems because of the circumcision when they are a baby,.. on top of that there are botched circumcisms.

This appears to be what happens with adults:
Some times Groups have Guys going around preching how much better they feel since they had their circumcism (even though they were circumcised as a baby but they lie about that and pretend it happened recently). They get other men to do it.

Men have a reduce in sensation, which they are completely aware of.

Some doctors do not properly prep the men and it is painful, messy, and even as adults it can be botched.

The men may have illnesses or infections relateing to it.

This was Common,.. in part some hospital Staff would bully the tired parents into it. So a very large percentage of males were circumcised (in the USA) constantly for a long time.

I guess lately it's not as popular. But Medical staff still bully or "visitors". Neither parent can think clearly some times after going through all the Labor, so they are easily influenced.

People like to blame the mother,... but she can object all she wants and the father say otherwise. Or staff could do it and be like " Oops,.. sorry. Too late now"

There is tons of pressure from medical staff when someone appears hermaphadite or gender is difficult to define. They want to do alot of surgery and it makes a mess of the person's body permenantly. It's not so clean as people think.

I'm from the UK, we do not circumcise right here, and in my view I'd so much as an alternative have an UNcircumcised one, regardless that I have had a few circumcised companions. I consider circumcised penises seem very unusual, to begin with - the top is rougher and they've a scar, and they do not seem correct with out the foreskin. I'd so much as an alternative have intercourse with an uncircumcised guy. I do not quite like giving oral intercourse to a circumcised guy, for instance. It is not part so satisfactory. I so much decide upon the whole thing approximately intercourse with an uncircumcised guy. I love the foreskin, it's the approach it's intended to be. Circumcision is not ordinary, right here, in which it has a tendency to be performed just for devout causes or in clinical want, to have it performed with out the ones causes might look like a fetish greater than whatever. I understand it is extra most important to like the person, and I might, however I'd be very dissatisfied if the person I used to be to spend the leisure of my lifestyles with used to be circumcised.

There is no good reason to cut the foreskin off a baby boy! No, it's not cleaner. He just needs to wash - duh! And why do it for some shallow twit who thinks it looks cuter - if she's that silly, he'll be better off without her.

The issue isn't the strapping down. The issue is the removal of a healthy, functional body part, leaving the male member mutilated and less sensitive for his whole life. It is child abuse!

Let me give you my 3 experiences and then why: I found a man in Houston, he is a pediatrician, but also a circumcision specialist...didn't know they existed until 6 years ago. He is also a rabbi, I am not Jewish but considering they started the process I think he is very gifted. He has done all 3 of our boys, and will do our son to be born in April. He does not strap them to anything, he gives them a "local" right in the area, my first son did not even cry. He did pee all over the bed. My other 2 sons cried a little, but not much. And he literally did it in about 5 seconds. He does it very differently than the hospitals.
I have it done primarily just as the symbol of the covenant, but I also believe there are health reasons. Daddy is circumcised and I preferred them to look like Daddy. It is easier to clean when they are young, lessens risk of infection. I also have it done on the 8th day, there is research that shows there is less blood flow on that day, so there isn't bleeding and their nerves are lessened so they feel less. I believe that is because that is the day God commanded His chosen people to be circumcised so he gave grace in the pain department. But who really knows for sure. I just know my boys have been wonderful, I was in the room with all 3 and as I said they hardly cried. It was so quick and it healed very well.

Oh my I didn't know thay didn't give anesthesia. Wow, ok is that in every hospital? I need to find out. Anyway, I was all for the circumcision thing because it's cleaner, but now feel funny about having it done because I read that.

Some caregivers do give anesthesia and some don't. A parent really needs to ask beforehand,

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends AGAINST routine infant circumcision as there is no strong medical reason for it.

Circumcision in the USA started as a means of discouraging masterbation! Today, the so-called "medical reasons" for circumcision can all be fixed by teaching safe sex practices and good hygeine to our children.

An intact penis is very easy to care for. As an infant, there is no special care or cleaning and the foreskin should NOT be retracted. It would be about the same sensation as ripping off one of your fingernails. When the child is closer to school-age, he'll find he can retract it on his own. Then he just needs to pull it back and rinse with water at bathtime.

My hubby is circ'd but we chose to leave our son intact. I wouldn't do it to a girl child, why should I cut part of my son's body off? Am I smarter than God/Mother Nature to think that he doesn't need it? He might have trouble with his tonsils one day....should I have them removed at birth? What about his appendix?

The arguments about looking like dad or being teased in the locker room are ridiculous.

Kids are SMART and understand that all people look different. Some are fat, some are skinny and some are inbetween. Some had red hair, others are blonde or have dark hair. People had differnet skin colors and different eye colors. Adults have pubic hair and kids don't. Women have developed breasts and little girls don't yet. A child won't be confused because his penis looks a little differnet than dad's. HIS penis will have looked that way since birth and will be normal to him. As far as I know, my nearly 8 year old son still hasn't asked his dad why they look different. The kids I have heard of who did ask said "Thanks for not letting them do that to me dad!" when they found out!

And the locker room arguement.......who do you think will get teased? The uncut kid or the kid who LOOKED at another boy's penis?!? Not to mention that the circ rate in the USA is approaching 50/50, so there should be plenty of other kids who look the same.

IMO, it's cosmetic surgery that is forced on many of poor little baby boys a year and the practice should be done away with unless there is a medical indication it is needed OR the child CHOOSES to have it done himself when he is old enough.

circumcision is a religiuos thing. God told people in the Bible to circumcise the boys after the 8th day.
as for the video you saw, i don't know where your teacher found it. the doctors do use anesthtics so the baby won't feel the pain. they will once the numbness wares off. and then the doctor will give the mother some tylenal w'codine in it to help with the pain. what you saw must have been from some other country 'cause in the USA they numb the baby before the circimsision.
the doctors had trouble with my son's circumcision so when he was 3 months old took him to a special doctor to get it done. and he if fine-no problems

I knew a guy who was uncircumcised and he hated it but was unwilling to go through the procedure as an adult. Doctor's do use local anesthesia and in all honesty, I can somewhat understand that strapping a baby down (as barbaric as it may seem) could be for the safety of the infant. Can you imagine what a doctor could accidentally cut if the baby moved or hitched! OUCH!!

It is more rare these days to circumsize a boy. Since since there is no medical reason for it done. Yes, they do strap them down, its for their own safety. The less they move the quicker and easier the procedure.

I am jewish and it is tradition for my religion but my husband is not jewish and does not believe in "the snip". My husband has the penis so I feel he should make that decision. He knows better than I do the impact of being cut or not.

Lucky us..we had a girl! But in the future, if we have a boy, we have decided not to have our son cut.
