I would hate for someone to walk up to my feet and began to stare at them like something is wrong with them.

I'd hate for someone to paint my toenails red, though I might not object to something like black...
Unless it were someone by whom I genuinely don't want to be tickled (there are a few), I'd be very likely to pretend I dreaded or feared foot-tickling to see if I could get a good tickle out of the situation...
