How do I remove wall paper glued directly on sheet rock?

I started removed wall paper and it is so hard to get off. I noticed it is glued directly on the sheet rock. My house is about 90 yrs. old and I can't paint over it, cause it will show the seams. I need help.

I would love any suggestions.

A easy way to get wall paper off the walls is to use hot water mixed with liquid fabric softener, this will lo sen the glue and you will be able to scrap the wallpaper off. I know it sounds weird but it really works I helped my sister remodel her kitchen and we had to scrap the wallpaper off this way, it will take some time but its cheap and effective.

It is really tough to do (I have tried it). If you carefully apply wall paper remover liquid from spray bottle until the paper is just about soaked you can carefully scrape off the old paper. BUT if you dig too deep you will be taking off the wallpaper plus the outer covering of the sheetrock. If you do it painfully slow you will have a minimum number of gouges that you will need to Spackle and then sand flat.

If that drives you crazy then take the advice of the person who said to apply paper over the old stuff. That heavy paper made for covering old wallpaper and then painting over it by the way is on sale at Lowes or Home Depot this week.

get new paper and put it over it...it works very well. You can also try steaming it off...but that is still alot of work.

get a squirt bottle and use HOT HOT water and squirt it while scraping it with a scraper i did it it works very very well TRY IT IT WORKS.
